Ok, so we all hate stereotypes, and all Lucas Jones has been since he was cast as an adult (by 737 actors) is the GAY GUY. Now they have a chance to show he has depth and emotions outside of his libido and Brad.
Make him having killed Sam because of a missed stitch or accidentally cut capillary or something. Have him deal w the guilt of acc killing his sister. Make him so depressed he goes to Sam & Jason's bridge and want to end it all. There he meets someone and has a scene where he speaks of not wanting to live knowing what he did, and reveal something like he tried to kill himself before, as a child, over bullied by being gay, or so forth.
De-stereotype him and tie his guilt over Sam w his shame over his sexual orientation, and have this other character talk him down, befriend him Maybe it's a new or returning character. Maybe the New Lulu? Play this out over 6 months. Maybe make Danny constantly calling him a killer a part of it. Maybe make him have to learn a lesson in kindness, and eventually reconcile w his uncle.
Sam was a TERRIBLE character played by a terrible actress, and Lucas finally has an actor that seems to be a cut above the rest. Make him a REAL character and person, and get rid of Brad, and THEN, once he's out of his spiral and recovered- at least 12 mos- then maybe he meets a soulmate. Make Lucas and the savior character become besties like Drew and Franco were.
This is an opportunity to do what only soaps can do over many mos.
It's nice to dream.

Don’t get rid of Brad. Give Brad a new bestie or lover or something- it doesn’t have to be Lucas, but I like the character too much to get rid of him. It’s not as though we have many Asian characters around, either.
I don’t want Lucas to get sloughed down in a long, depressing guilt SL. Let it be a heart defect that was the cause of death and let Lucas move on.

I agree about Brad. I've always liked the character despite his scheming unethical history. We know what to expect with Brad. Even when we thought he was turning over a new leaf...there he was blackmailing Portia...his BOSS!! I love it. He has no shame.
