Sorry, I'm confused here. Didn't Nelle tell her bff in Atlanta the truth? That she never slept with Sonny but only needed him to think that she had?
And what prompted this bff to stab Nelle in the back by telling any of that info to Felicia?

Apparently they weren't actually BFFs but Frenemies and she told the lie to Felicia because, well, why not? Seriously though, I have no idea, and suspect the writers didn't expect anyone to remember that Nelle told her BFF the truth.

I know. I asked the same thing last night.
If she lied to her friend as a way to "back up" her story down the road, then why did she act like she tied up all of the loose ends by destroying the audio files? Is she simply delusional? I have no idea what is going on here.

Oh, wait. So she DID tell her friend the truth? We saw that?
This makes no sense.

I don't recall any scene or any conversation between Nelle and her BFF about Sonny, truth or lie, at all. Can someone remind me when this happened? I just assumed that the writers pulled this out of their butts. There is no reason why Nelle should have told a lie or the truth to any friend, and no reason why the friend would have told a total stranger about it. This is just really really bad writing.

Actually, Nelle has said several times that she had no friends while in Atlanta, so there was never anyone for her to tell the secret to, nor is there any reason why anyone would who was supposedly Nelle's friend decide to just randomly blurt out Nelle's deepest, darkest secret to a total stranger who was supposedly interviewing her for a job related award.

Seriously, I didn't think Nelle had any friends and I don't remember this even being discussed. Did Felicia really go to Georgia or is this just something she and Bobbie are stating to make Nelle think they know more than they really do? I'm confused.

No, this is much worse than that, this is writing that aspires to mere badness.

It would have been much better if Carly had stopped by Nelle's apartment and discovered the audio without the Lavern and Shirley antics of Bobbie and Felicia.

What would have been best is if Nelle did nothing at all and Carly learned by opening the envelope like Nelle originally planned. Carly and Sonny are both guilty of a crime by entering Nelle's apartment without her knowledge and looking through her stuff, I don't care if Carly found a key, it's still illegal, not that the law matters in Port Charles, which apparently exists in the same universe as The Man in the High Castle

This isn't a storyline that I've followed really (anything regarding Sonny or Carly truly makes me want to hurl - I didn't get the TV muted fast enough and heard Carly say that her and Sonny had been in bed all day and seriously my gag reflexes activated), so I was deferring to SW's comment that she told her friend that she lied about Sonny. I know a lot of posters like her and this particular storyline, but I've been waiting for the climax for what seemed like ages.
And I believe Felicia went to Florida. Isn't that where Nelle said she was really from? So maybe she lied about having no friends too?

But, it is dumb to just randomly invent a 'friend' to whom Nelle has supposedly been confiding everything the entire time, even though we never knew anything about it, and yet, Nelle lies even to her supposed friend, and this friend just randomly blurts out the secret Nelle has been telling her, to a total stranger for no reason. It is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.
They might as well just had Felicia say that she found out by reading the script, it would make as much sense.

Yeah she did say several times that she had nothing left in Atlanta which one would assume friends as well.
But the thing is she was making secret phone calls to this BFF which we did see onscreen and she did tell the BFF what she was doing with Sonny and that it would all backfire on Carly.
Some assumed that was her father but then she looked at the sky last time she spoke to him like he was dead.

Okay, so why would this friend just randomly decide to blurt out Nelle's deepest, darkest secrets to a total stranger for no reason?

Perhaps there exist folks in the PC cosmos who know that they are characters and simply like to facilitate the bad plots. It's their way of being Clarence Oddbodies.

I wouldn't believe one word coming out of Nelle's mouth. Apparently her father is alive and blackmailing her even though she said her parents are dead. Telling a friend everything that happened in PC is stupid though.
