It looks like the newest episode (Hidden Inventory/懐玉) is listed as episode 25 on the official website so it appears the new episodes will continue from the previous numbering. According to our anime-specific guidelines, this means all episodes should be listed in a single season.

Always the same BS, tmdb mods know best and F what the actual community thinks.
Mods need to go back an read your mission statement. "The Movie Database (TMDB) is a COMMUNITY built movie and TV database...Our community is second to none. Between our staff and community moderators, we're always here to HELP. We're passionate about making sure your EXPERIENCE on TMDB is nothing short of amazing." Every single time you change these seasons contrary to the rest of the internet you make us, the community mad, create more problems for mods and in my experience leave no one happy.
Us being the community have clearly stated over and over again that your anime guidelines do not work and need adjustment. Your series guide says the first and most important data source is the original Japanese data but your next statement pays no heed to that fact "Sequels series (i.e. a direct continuation of the story) are added within the same entry. When the episodes numbers are continuous, all episodes are added to the same season. ", ie. this episode is clearly listed on the official website as season 2 episode 25 (https://jujutsukaisen.jp/episodes/), there is no mention that season 1 contains more than 24 episodes.
I can think of two easy ways to fix this, first if the original data source is the most important then this episode should read S02E25 but that would conflict with your rule that every season must the with #1 so the other option is use trakt's method for special episodes that are critical/part of the story see...https://trakt.tv/shows/maid-sama/seasons/0/episodes/2. In that case this episode would read S02E01 (25), this way pays heed to the original data, keeps episode numbering in line with other guides and could easily be expanded to fix the segment problem as well, ie. segmented episode could be numbered S01E01 (A,B,C,etc.) and have descriptions split the same way.
It seams clear to me that this is an ongoing issue that only creates more work for mods as community members continue to report issues over and over again and all we receive in return are short curt responses for mods.
Mods are not gods, your guidelines are just that, GUIDES and it is clear that they need to be rethought
The most ridiculous part of this is that the mods seem to be completely unwilling to even have a discussion on whether the rules should be re-written. The rules are digital, not carved into stone: unchanging, eternal. If they are complete BS, which so many seem to agree that they are, a discussion at least should be held on cleaning them up and making them better.

I know the guidelines, but it's also listed as season 2 on the official website, so it would be better to also list it as Season 2.

Literally all advertising: "Get ready for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, coming this summer!"
TMDB rules: "Yeah, but is it actually season 2?"

The continously number thing is pretty stupid in general. Of course there is an episode 100 on let's say X-Files, still doesn't mean it's one season 😂
Some dope shit going on here. The weirdest guy around probably being mister "I invite you to read this previous content report." superboy97
Yeah, we've all read it.

I gave up a lot of series and anime via The Movie DB when I see this kind of numbers that are completely lame ... Goodbye The Movie DB, hello The TVDB
