Pingu is quietly reading his comic when he comes across a picture of a monstrous abominable snowman. He draws his own version, and scares Pinga with it. Pingu then draws a three-toed footprint and he and Pinga rush around the igloo playing at being chased until they run full tilt into Mother, knocking her over. Outside, Pingu creates some abominable snowman footprints made from a pair of snowshoes with spoons tied to them. He then goes off, pretending to be an abominable snowman, leaving a trail of footprints behind him. Pinga comes out to look for him, sees the trail of footprints, and follows them. Meanwhile Pingu, who has found an old blanket and put it over his head, continues to make footprints. He hears Pinga following and hides behind a block of ice. When Pinga stops by the block, Pingu scares her and chases her round the block. Pingu then trips and loses one of his snowshoes. While he’s putting it back on Pinga comes up behind him, realises what’s going on and, as Pingu gets up, pulls the blanket away, scaring Pinga. They both laugh, and then continue together. Later, they’re on their way home when they get back to the spot where Pingu ambushed Pinga, and Pingu spots some large footprints that weren’t made by him. Then they hear crunching in the snow, and see a huge shadow on the ice. Terrified, Pingu runs away, leaving Pinga, who covers her eyes and trembles in terror. She hears a sneeze, and looks. From behind a block of ice comes a real abominable snowman named Bajoo, but he’s not much bigger than she is. Pinga and Bajoo then go to find Pingu, and the snowman explains that he’s also been following the footprints. Bajoo quickly hides when Father comes on the motorised sledge to take them home, but as they’re leaving, he pops out to wave goodbye.

Pingu liest ein Buch über das Schneemonster. Er malt es und erschreckt mit dem Bild seine Schwester, worauf Mutter ihn nach draußen schickt. Pingu bastelt sich aus Tennisschlägern Schneeschuhe und befestigt Löffel daran, so dass er Spuren wie von einem riesigen Monster hinterlässt. Als Pinga aus dem Haus kommt, erschrickt sie zunächst über die Spuren, ist dann aber begeistert von Pingus Einfall. Plötzlich aber entdecken beide weitere Spuren, die wie von einem echten Schneemonster aussehen.

Pingu luego dibuja una huella de tres dedos y él y Pinga se apresuran alrededor del iglú jugando para ser perseguidos hasta que corren completamente hacia Madre, derribándola. En el exterior, Pingu crea algunas huellas abominables de muñeco de nieve hechas de un par de raquetas de nieve con cucharas atadas a ellas. Luego se va, fingiendo ser un abominable muñeco de nieve, dejando un rastro de huellas detrás de él. Pinga sale a buscarlo, ve el rastro de huellas y las sigue. Mientras tanto, Pingu, que encontró una manta vieja y se la puso sobre la cabeza, continúa haciendo huellas. Oye a Pinga que lo sigue y se esconde detrás de un bloque de hielo. Cuando Pinga se detiene en el bloque, Pingu la asusta y la persigue alrededor del bloque. Pingu se tropieza y pierde una de sus raquetas. Mientras se lo está poniendo, Pinga aparece detrás de él, se da cuenta de lo que está pasando y, cuando Pingu se levanta, tira la manta, asustando a Pinga. Ambos se ríen, y luego continúan juntos. Más tarde, se dirigen a casa cuando regresan al lugar donde Pingu tendió una emboscada a Pinga, y Pingu descubre algunas huellas grandes que no fueron hechas por él. Luego escuchan crujidos en la nieve y ven una enorme sombra en el hielo. Aterrada, Pingu huye, dejando a Pinga, que se cubre los ojos y tiembla de terror. Ella oye un estornudo, y mira. De detrás de un bloque de hielo viene un verdadero muñeco de nieve abominable llamado Bajoo, pero él no es mucho más grande que ella. Pinga y Bajoo luego van a buscar a Pingu, y el muñeco de nieve explica que él también ha estado siguiendo las huellas. Bajoo se esconde rápidamente cuando papá viene en el trineo motorizado para llevarlos a casa, pero cuando se van, se despide para despedirse.
