Carol persuades Magnum to do some work for her, gathering additional evidence for the big murder case of a man accused of killing his wife that is due to come up in court in a couple of days. The only witness of the woman's death is her young daughter, but Thomas faces a crisis of conscience over just what to and what not to present as evidence in the court-room that could ensure the conviction of the violent accused killer... Meanwhile, Higgins, tired of Magnum's slackness around the Estate, has taken use of the Ferrari away from him, so Thomas must find a new vehicle to get around in...

Kleine Elizabeth staat op het punt een gedicht op te nemen voor haar grootmoeder als ze haar ouders hoort ruziën. Hun ruzie escaleert en verandert in schermutseling. Kort daarna verlaat Greg het huis en wordt Elizabeths moeder Debbie dood aangetroffen. Magnum neemt het onderzoek over en komt erachter dat Greg een nogal onaangenaam verleden heeft.

Deren Auseinandersetzung eskaliert und artet in Handgreiflichkeiten aus. Bald darauf verlässt Greg das Haus. Kurze Zeit später wird Elizabeths Mutter Debbie tot aufgefunden. Magnum übernimmt die Ermittlungen und findet heraus, dass Greg eine recht unerfreuliche Vergangenheit hat. Vor seiner Ehe mit Debbie war er schon einmal verheiratet, verschwieg diese Tatsache jedoch. Und es gibt noch einen anderen ungeklärten Mord.

Carol chiede aiuto a Magnum per un caso che riguarda un uomo accusato di aver ucciso sua moglie. L'unica testimone del fatto è la figlia e dopo aver indagato, Thomas si trova ad affrontare una crisi morale su come gestire le prove raccolte. Nel frattempo Higgins, stanco del disordine di Magnum, gli ha negato l'uso della Ferrari.
