Season 2 premiered tonight on National Geographic channel. Nat Geo of course is synonymous with scientific exploration. The challenge is blending that with fictional drama. Sort of like trying to blend oil with water. In the premiere, drilling for water on Mars is tantamount to survival on Mars and human colonization. I was somewhat disappointed they chose the Avatar cliche -- big bad corporations mucking it up with the "profit at any cost" plot, vs. the heart-of-gold astronaut/scientists. People on mars, inside their sheltered containers, walk around as if the gravity there is the same as earth? It would have been nice if via exposition they could have brought up how easy it is to extract oxygen and hydrogen from water via electrolysis. Oh well.
It's a good show.. wish they'd keep the virtue signaling and posturing out of it though. Season 2 was almost entirely about climate change, Trump and how he's a moron and fracking even entered the fray.
The show can stand on it's own, we don't need it to be weighed down by politics IMHO.

yup, while in first season I even learned something new from 2016 parts, in season 2 it was just pure climate change propaganda, I wished they would kept the 2016 part to the minimum and in Mars topic instead Earth climate
but all in all I had very low expectations and was nicely surprised how good the show was, though I also wish the whole season 2 wouldn't be about bad megacorp vs good scientists
