This episode was interesting. I don't understand that whole "bullying" in the park segment. It feels like there was more going on with that. Very strange. Are grown folks that petty?? Chay is definitely happier as a girl and she dresses quite well. Hopefully she will figure things out and stop sabotaging. She is only 23 years old.

I'm happy Chay has transitioned. I wonder if I missed a show on that? Anyway, when they showed her in a bra it was obvious she had undergone some changes. I too wonder how she afforded the transition surgery. Maybe TLC paid for it as well as the gastric bypass? I'm assuming in exchange for being on the show TLC pays for everything including housing and after care. Perhaps insurance covers some of the surgery/hospitalization? I'm sure these folks must be on Medicaid or Medicare or disability of some sort.

I also thought that scene in the park may have been staged because Chay has said on social media that she works as a cashier at a Wal-Mart store, so wouldn't that sort of thing happen all the time. She was saying how much she hates going out because of things like that but I did wonder about her job and if it happens there too.

I did notice something curious while watching Chay's segment and that was when she was all dollied up in full make-up and wearing a dress she was never driving, but had a driver driving her around Houston and took the bus to Houston. I'm sure this is because in Louisiana you can't change the gender on your ID until you've had the surgery so legally she is still a male. I don't know what would happen if she was stopped and they noticed she has a male driver's license. It's possible they would make her take the make-up off and appear more like her driver's license photo. Maybe she was ticketed before for driving in "drag" and that's why she doesn't do it anymore.

I didn't remember Laura. I only started watching 'My 600 lb Life' two years ago and either her original episode came on before this or when it was on I missed it. I did notice in the beginning she was missing teeth then in the update she had all of her teeth. Like with Pauline last week, I wonder how people that are so poor can afford all of that dental work. I wouldn't think Medicaid would pay for it.

What a loser husband. I feel his days are numbered! It was kind of ironic her wanting to go to beauty school --- and I hope see does -- but her own look could use some work --- bizarre make-up and weird hair. If she keeps that look she will not be a good advertisement for her cosmetology skills!

I don't think TLC pays them very much because like many of the others on this show, Chay has already had at least two GoFundMe pages to raise money. One was because she wanted to go to beauty school. I don't know what happened with that because she didn't mention that at all in her update, and a recent one she was raising money to get the rental house they showed in her episode last night.

StandChickie, I cant believe how observant you are re:Chay's driving. It didn't even cross my mind but makes perfect sense.

Angel, these poor low self esteem women really choose "winners". I think Lupe's husband takes the cake, though. He is a pervert, cheater and slimy. I feel like Laura will stay with her man-child and just continue to complain.

I noticed Laura's teeth as well. These people must get a lot of "perks" for being on the show. I am Canadian and have no idea how Medicaid/care works. But in any case, they should really take advantage of all the gifts they are given. Not all morbidly obese people are that lucky.

Laura would benefit from a wig and MUCH less makeup. Hopefully she will tone it down. She is so sweet.
