Yakumo and Pai's quest coming towards a conclusion as they embark on the most dangerous part of their journey. They arrive at the Sacred Gate of Lost Time where they must journey into the dark past of the Sanjigan people. The final battle fast approaches, and the forces of darkness continue to build their power, so it is down to Pai's powers to make sure good triumphs over evil.

La quête de Yakumo et Pai s'achève alors qu'ils entreprennent la partie la plus dangereuse de leur voyage. Ils arrivent à la Porte Sacrée du Temps Perdu où ils doivent voyager dans le sombre passé du peuple Sanjigan. La bataille finale approche rapidement, et les forces des ténèbres continuent de renforcer leur pouvoir, il appartient donc aux pouvoirs de Pai de s'assurer que le bien triomphe du mal.

香炉を使い崑崙から聖地へとたどり着くことができた八雲たち。そこで残されたメッセージから、聖地が鬼眼王に支配されていたこと、四代目パイ＝パールバティーがシヴァ（＝鬼眼王）の許婚であったこと、そして鬼眼王を封印することに成功した三只眼たちは、パイを残して全滅したことを知る……。突如現れたベナレスによって、自分が「三只眼」を封印するための化蛇（ホウアシヲ）であると聞かされたぱい。真実を思い出した化蛇は、ベナレスに従い人間として元の暮らしを送るか、酷い蛇の姿に戻り、パイと「三只眼」を開放してベナレスと戦うかの決断を迫られる。

향로를 이용해 곤륜에서 성지에 도착할 수 있었던 팔운 일행. 그곳에 남겨진 메시지를 통해 성지가 귀안왕의 지배를 받고 있었다는 것, 4대 파이-파르바티가 시바(=귀안왕)의 혼인 상대였다는 것, 그리고 귀안왕을 봉인하는 데 성공한 삼다안들이 파이를 남기고 전멸했다는 사실을 알게 되는데... ..... 갑자기 나타난 베나레스에게 자신이 '삼단안'을 봉인하기 위한 화사(化蛇)라는 말을 듣게 된 파이. 진실을 깨달은 화사는 베나레스를 따라 인간으로서 원래의 삶을 살 것인지, 아니면 끔찍한 뱀의 모습으로 돌아가 파이와 '삼단안'을 풀어 베나레스와 싸울 것인지를 결정해야만 한다.
