When Max was stuck on the train trying to reach for the gravity device.. why didn't he use his telekinesis? He was struggling for like 5 minutes and I don't understand why he didn't just grab it with his powers.

Probably because of the comic effect, or he just didn't "think" about it. He did get his hair messed up that way
I was also wondering about why Phoebe didn't just throw all the bad guys off the train with her telekinesis, instead of trying to freeze them, I guess this would make things too easy and boring. A fight to the death is much more exciting.

You both make good points. Phoebe and Max do have telekinesis but it would not be as dramatic as seeing them fight it out or Max trying to each it.
Still good show.

Don't the writers have to watch all episodes of both series before writing a crossover? Or talk with the actors and ask them what powers their characters have? If not, they should

That's possible. Also, do their powers have a limit, like can you only use it once every day or until all the energy is used up and then you'd have to recharge which means eating, resting or waiting 24 hours or longer.
