As great as the first 3 seasons are I am really looking forward to season 4 also. I watched the first episode and it was really good. Can't think of the name offhand.

@Jayhn1111 That episode was called The Code. Next up is Numbers Game, which introduces Lee Merriweather as Tracy. Enjoy!

Sorry to drag everyone back into season 3 (briefly!) for its ender, The Interrogator. Opinions and impressions of that one? This and Illusion were probably Landau at his peak, on this series.

@lima-2 It was one of the weirdest episodes of Mission Impossible. Not a favorite, especially since it was Barbara Bain and Martin Landau's last appearance on the show.

@lima-2 As for Illusion, I thought that it was a great episode! I especially loved when Barbara Bain and Martin Landau were performing on stage. One of the all time best episodes!

Hey everybody! I see I have some posts to catch up on. I've been so busy I haven't had the time to post on any of the boards. I hope everybody is doing well here.

@Jayhn1111 : I'm doing well, thank you. As for boards updates, Jetfire59 said a couple of weeks ago that he wouldn't be able to post anymore (to get the details, go to the Star Trek board. It's listed under Gotta Go). Other than that, things are okay here on the board (I think). Anyway, I'm glad you're back!

Thanks! Well it was more of me kind of just temporarily stopping in. But I hope after this week things will get back to normal. Just been working 12 hour shifts so I haven't really had the energy to pop in much. OH wow Jetfire. I like that guy. Sorry to see him go.

@Jayhn1111 Yes, he was cool. However, shortly after he left he came back (temporarily, I think) and got into a fight with Knixon. I didn't want to read about it, so I'm staying away from the TOS board for awhile. Anyway, what season 4 episode are you watching know that your not so busy?

I hope this is a valid question for season four. I watched both Star Trek TOS and Mission: Impossible when they were first broadcast as prime time series on their respective networks. I had an odd response to Leonard Nimoy moving to M:I after ST was cancelled. To me it was as if Nimoy was playing Spock playing Paris.
It took me awhile to accept him as not-Spock. It wasn't until MI was well into syndication that ... "Okay, Nimoy was Paris." I'm guessing it didn't affect younger viewers coming to both series, after they left their networks.
Responses?

@lima-2 It's a very valid question. I had the same feeling myself. When I watched Leonard Nimoy in the season four episodes, I would think: "What happened to his ears? Why is he getting so emotional? And good Diety, why is he kissing that woman?"
It took me awhile to get used to Leonard Nimoy portraying any other character than Spock, so you're not alone in your thinking.

After reading your post, Maria, I had a sudden flash-forward. Huh? Yes! It was like watching Michael Weatherly morph from Anthony Dinozzo, Jr into Dr. Jason Bull the very next season. That would be like Nimoy going from Paris > to > Spock. Reverse imagery. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack jayhn1111"s thread. Just random thoughts on season 4.

@lima-2 There's nothing to apologize for. Your post does bring up a valid point. Season four brought major change: Barbara Bain and Martin Landau left the show, Leonard Nimoy joined the cast.
And then season four was the season of the "female agent of the week" (although I could never figure out why they just didn't have Lee Merriweather become a regular cast member).

Unfortunately I'm still just as busy! lol. But I did get to watch "the Controller" last night. I watched the 2 parter back to back obviously. (that's the only way to watch it as far as I"m concerned). Pretty good episode. I wouldn't put it up there with my favorite 2 parters, but I was hooked and enjoyed it.

It's a very valid question lima. I was born in 1971 so I did not see it in it's original broadcast obviously, but I grew up as a huge fan of Star trek TOS and when I finally did seriously watch Mission impossible in full, I honestly didn't have that problem feeling like he was Spock. Mostly due to the fact that Spock showed no emotion. in MI he had a different look to him and showed all kinds of emotion and played different types of characters and I felt was very good at it. So when I watch him as Paris, Spock really isn't on my mind. But I can see how that may happen to other viewers.

I believe I posted a brief review of the Illusion if I remember correctly. I very much enjoyed that one. The Interrogator was also a great episode. I wish I posted my thoughts on it after I watched it while it was fresh in my mind. I was going to, but never got to it. I liked when Rollin tried to reverse the roles mid interrogation and tried to play the interrogator himself.
