Sydney and Nigel are thrown into an international intrigue, when one of Nostradamus' prophecies predicts that a Fox will stop a royal assassination. Sydney and Nigel must crack the prophet's cryptic code to identify the assassin in time, armed only with need to know information and a 16th century riddle.

Der britische MI 5-Mann Watson beauftragt Sydney, das Medaillon des Hellsehers Nostradamus zu finden, um ein Attentat zu verhindern, das der Seher für diese Tage vorausgesagt hat. Dabei führt Sydney eine Spur zu dem verstorbenen Kardinal Dallier, der im Kloster „Langrune sur mer“ begraben liegt. Dallier glaubte nämlich, vom Fluch des Nostradamus befallen zu sein. Als Sydney und Nigel in Dalliers Gruft tatsächlich das Medaillon finden, wartet eine Überraschung auf sie.
