I think maybe he just wanted to cut school that day, because he was upset about getting his electronics taking away. But then he didn't want to go home and face being in trouble for missing school. Then maybe he got offered a ride by somebody, and the further away he got, the more it felt like he just couldn't go back. I hope he's still alive and at least calls home to let them know.
