I knew it couldn't be just me that thought her story seemed a bit fake. Several things is her father was never interviewed, only her mother. Satara certainly did a lot of drugs, and even ended up in rehab and jail several times, to have always had an apartment (it could be her parents were paying for that except her mother denied it).

Then when I was reading articles on this case many of the commenters also said they didn't believe for a second this actually happened. That most likely that since she was a struggling actress she was looking for media exposure and this was the only way to get it by claiming she had been kidnapped for several months by a known sexual predator. Plus being a drug user didn't make her seem credible either.
