Lucille is in the shop being repaired so Cody stays in the Lambert living room. After Cody does his wash in the kitchen and loses his ant farm on the couch, the family is ready for him to move back into his van. Lucille, however, dies on the greaserack. Frank and Carol are relieved, however, when Cody tells them he is ready to be out as well. He decides to move into a stationary Lucille reasoning that many people live perfectly normal lives in non-moving structures.

At the same time, Karen is interested in a guy who volunteers at a homeless shelter so she goes there one Saturday. He takes his girlfriend out, though, and Karen ends up spending a whole day at the shelter for ""nothing."" After a heart-to-heart with Carol, Karen decides that she needs to adjust her priorities.

Codyho Lucinka je v opravě a on tak nemá kde spát. Frank jej nechá přespat v obýváku na gauči, ale Carol s tím příliš nesouhlasí, protože má strach, že bude v celém domě nepořádek. Cody všem leze na nervy. Lucinka se navíc nedá opravit a Frank Codymu nabídne, aby v domě přespával i nadále. Cody naštěstí zjistí, že mu Frank a Carol také lezou na nervy a rozhodne se, že může bydlet v Lucince přestože je nepojízdná. Karen se líbí mladík Kevin, pomáhající spolu s Danou v charitě a nevěří Daninu varování, že ji na rande nepozve. Aby Kevina sbalila, jde s Danou pomáhat. Tam zjistí, že Kevin má přítelkyni. Je proto naštvaná na Danu, vždyť musela "ztrácet čas" pomocí lidem a navíc - nic z toho neměla! Nakonec si uvědomí, že se příliš stará o šaty a make up…

Frank propose à Cody de s'installer dans la maison le temps de la réparation de son van, mais bien que comme d'habitude bien intentionné, Cody va avoir vite tendance à se montrer très envahissant. Pendant ce temps, Karen décide d'accompagner Dana faire du bénévolat au foyer des pauvres dans le seul but de draguer un autre bénévole.

Weil sein Van in der Werkstatt ist, zieht Cody bei Frank und Carol ein. Doch mit seinen Macken bringt er Carol fast zur Verzweiflung. Lucille, Codys Van und Heim, ist in der Werkstatt. Cody will deswegen auf dem Rasen übernachten. Frank und Carol bringen es nicht übers Herz, ihn so hängen zu lassen, und bieten ihm an, auf dem Sofa zu schlafen. Doch Cody erweist sich als schlampiger Zeitgenosse, lümmelt sich nach dem Fitnesscenter klatschnass geschwitzt auf das Sofa und hängt seine frisch gewaschenen, aber noch tropfenden Unterhosen in der Küche auf. Carol überlegt, wie sie den anstrengenden Gast wieder loswerden kann. Doch dann kommt ihr Cody zuvor, der ist nämlich von Carols und Franks Spießigkeit genervt. Obwohl sein Van nicht mehr fahrtüchtig ist, zieht er wieder zurück.

Cody má auto v opravovni, a preto mu Frank ponúkne, aby nateraz prespával u nich na gauči. Carol sa však tento nápad nepozdáva. Karen sa zapozerá do Daninho kamaráta, čo vedie k tomu, že začne pomáhať druhým.
