This TMDb thread is attached to the 1997 series reboot, though is intended to be equally for also any earlier version of the long-running Disney series that aired (on ABC, NBC, or CBS, depending on the era) from beginning in 1954 onward.
I absolutely loved the series during my growing-up years; it was definite must-see-t.v. for kids. In my case, during the '60s and '70s is mainly when I was watching it.
There would be either classic Disney cartoons and animated features or Disney live-action films of whatever vintage. I still am able to vaguely remember the very tail end (circa 1965-1966) of when Walt Disney, himself (who died in late '66), was the series' host. Often during the '60s and '70s various Disney films (Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, etc.) dating back to the '50s were still being broadcast.
This (and I speak for the years during which I was a viewer, therefore that I personally recall) was a wonderful, delightful, magical series, that kids always looked forward to, and that was tremendously enjoyed whenever the show came on. I, for one, have cherished childhood memories of it.
