Ferdie Kruger is the manager of the Fransen, a boutique hotel on the outskirts of Franseburg, Mpumalanga. When the Lourier hotel group buys this diamond in the rough as their latest acquisition, they send Thomas from their headquarters to monitor the transition. Thomas' ideas clash with Ferdie and his staff's old-fashioned way of doing things.

Thomas needs the staff to fill out forms regarding the current state of the hotel, while Ferdie fears that their feedback could ruin his reputation. Meanwhile, Danny is looking for someone to help him prepare for an audition, and Jony complicates things for Thomas after their unplanned romance the day before.

After a weekend away, Ferdie is back convinced that a swimming pool will ensure success in his hotel - that is if he can get the idea past Thomas. Uncle Dirk and Brenda lock up their platform accident in the barn, while Danny entertains a homeless man on his night shift.

Ferdie is looking for love. Thomas organizes a training day for the staff to sharpen their hospitality skills. Monica, the facilitator, is tested to the limit. In addition to the staff making her job difficult, Ferdie targets her as a partner.

Thomas and Ferdie try to resolve the constant conflict between Brenda and Maggie. While Maggie is busy, Danny has to help Malanie wash a mountain of dishes. This is disrupted when they see a large rat. Jony is on Uncle Dirk's trail, convinced that he drinks at work.

After a burglary at the hotel, Ferdie decides to install security cameras in and around the hotel. The power of all-seeing goes to his head and the staff become furious at him constantly looking over their shoulders. Meanwhile, they are also trying to figure out what they can get Ferdie for his birthday.

Jony organizes a merger function for Lourier and Die Fransen Hotel. This important evening is disrupted when Ferdie sees a bully from his past on the guest list. Maggie teaches the staff a lesson when they stop by her appetizers, while Brenda struggles to find a journalist to cover the event.

Ferdie disguises himself as a difficult guest after shuffling his staff into different positions. When they realize that one of the real guests is a judge, they try their best to treat him professionally. In the midst of the chaos, Uncle Dirk finds out that Maggie supports the Crusaders and tries to sway her.

Ferdie realizes the staff don't trust him. Hoping to regain trust, he offers to help with a crisis situation in the kitchen. Thomas struggles with his inability to do handy work around the hotel, and Danny finds himself in a challenging romantic situation.

Ingrid du Buisson, a philanthropist, donates a self-portrait to the Hotel after Ferdie and Thomas save her life. Ferdie gathers the courage to ask her to donate a swimming pool. Maggie tries to convince Uncle Dirk to go to the hospital after he cuts his hand, while Danny struggles with the discomfort between him and Malanie.

The team-building braai-day is disrupted when Maggie notices that they are the only hotel in the Lourier group that is not getting a raise. The staff decide to strike and they occupy the restaurant, allowing Jony and Thomas to run the hotel on their own.

The hotel is celebrating its fiftieth birthday. Everyone is busy with preparations. Jony has to arrange a musical guest, Ferdie struggles to find a date, and Thomas has to keep the budget in check. Danny and Malanie find themselves in strange territory at the beginning of their relationship.

It's the big night of the hotel's fiftieth. The future of the hotel hangs in the balance and Ferdie begs Thomas to use his influence and save the hotel. Danny and Malanie's pride threatens to cost their relationship, while Bouwer Bosch still refuses to perform with a broken heart.
