Oh my god no! It should belong in season 2 because it's the first episode of season 2. The first episode being episode 12 of the series overall does not negate that.
It says second season everywhere on the official website. For example,
https://ichigoproduction.com/news/
Oh look at that URL now if you go to ichigoproduction.com/Season2 a PV shows up for season 2.
Re:Zero all over again. It makes a lot more sense to separate it into seasons.

It's their rules, it is better for them to change in the beginning than creating a mess changing it later.
They will change it, whether we like it or not.

Exactly, it's better to start with a season 2... For years this thread will not be closed…

Wow I really would be nice if I could visit this site and have it's data actually match the rest of the internet. What a novel idea! Why I can even go to this anime's official website and read about how Season 2 just premiered but TMDB doesn't think that matters because TMDB MODS KNOW BEST.

Season 2 episode 1 started on July 3rd, 2024 "Tokyo Blade. Please fix asap, messes up Trakt and scraping when you lump S2 episodes into 1 season. Season 1 ended after episode #11 on Nov 23, 2023! IMDB, TVDB is correct in separating into 2 seasons - 7 month break = new season....

I Agree... ALL THE OTHER WEBSITES HAVE IT SEPARATED BY SEASONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS MAKING TRAKT WRONG!

I am trying to figure out the reasoning behind this as all I got was
But it literally says Season2 in the URL itself "https://ichigoproduction.com/Season2/story/12.html".
By that reasoning shouldn't TenSura (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/82684) also have only one season? According to their website they also use episodes that are numbered consecutively as can be seen here: https://www.ten-sura.com/news/anime/tensura/onair/post/10492 (Episode 66). There is Ep 18 of Season 3 in the brackets, but by the same reasoning behind Oshi no Ko that shouldn't play a role the same way as Season2 doesn't in the URL. I could find many more examples like this.

And now season 3 is announced... will that change anything? Quite the opposite.

Other anime series such as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime also use absolute numbering in their episodes, yet they are split in several seasons on TMDB?
Even on the official website it is split into separate seasons. Maybe we should just follow that instead of making it super complex?
The current ordering also breaks tools that use the API to fetch the episode information.
Can a moderator please clarify this choice instead of leaving all of the threads open without a reply?

Moderators have clarified. The thread is still open due to people rightfully pointing out they are in the wrong.

I think there should season 2! Firstly, no matter according to the office website or other animes on tmdb( such as https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/82684) or other website like theTVDB. Secondly, I didn't see any tmdb official rules or community rules saying "if the episode number continues, the season should be combined". Finally, even if the official website will change the episode sequence in the future, it would be batter we change it in the future, not insist on a worry definition which didn't make any sense!

Here are the anime rules: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/tv/59f743289251416e71000037#5b71c6b4c3a3684161000001
And yes, I worry that they will change later and mess people's data, as it always happens, because they have to change according to their rules.
And if they take too long to do it, things like this happen: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/209707/seasons (episodes are added both at season 1 and season 2 and it's been 3 months and they still haven't corrected it)
All I want is for them to list the episodes once and don't change, and unfortunelly, right now, the only way for that to happen is to follow that rule.

Let's open that debate based on the rules. The rules kinda contradict themselves when it comes to the episode ordering. Theoretically it should all be in one seasons based on pure rules.
How I interpret them is; TMDB wants the correct TV release order as it was aired.
Let's break the rules down.
Now let's take a look at the data by carefully reading and extracting the rules.

I did some research for this to make sure it is all correct. Can a moderator elaborate if the data above has been taken into consideration?
