The number of episodes is determined by the original network. On Channel 4, this series aired as 5 episodes, not 6.

Perhaps the original network aired 5 episodes, but existing media (DVDs, streaming services Hoopla, Vudu, Tubi, Pluto, Amazon , and AppleTV ) list 6 episodes, as does Wikipedia and IMDB.
People acquiring the series at this time will be viewing 6 episodes.
