What always bugged me about the "premiere episodes" was that when they crossed paths with the Reaver ship, they wouldn't just drift slowly past each other like that. At any kind of interplanetary velocities, unless they were already on identical/parallel courses, they would flash past each other pretty quickly. And even if they were on identical courses, it wouldn't be that leisurely unless they were somehow within a few feet-per-second of each other.
