I still need to watch the last three episodes. They haven't aired here yet.
I'm not sure I agree with you that the plot is all over the place. The plot has been reasonably consistent in heading towards a conspiracy and Quinn's crucial role in the discovery of it. Dar Adal is in the center of it all. (At least that's what it looks like up until episode 9.)
I think using the U.S.-Iran agreement as the main plot device has confused me. It also feels like the producers and writers made this season assuming that Hilary was gonna win the election. Elizabeth Marvel has been good as POTUS-elect despite her arc being a bit weak.

Well, they weren't the only ones.
I'm not quite sure where Keane's arc is heading to. Is it naive to think that Dar is doing all he's doing to ensure that he (and therefore the agency) has work to do? Or did I miss all the obvious clues? (I did fall asleep one episode...)
No there's a deliberate ambiguity going on there with Dar. I'm hoping the same; that he's doing whatever he's doing for the greater good. Don't feel bad; my sister also fell asleep during an episode (maybe two, actually)!!
So, the finale of HOMELAND was a real bummer. Don't get me wrong, it was suspenseful and absorbing but the resolution was beyond bleak! Maybe the producers think real world is heading (if not already headed) this way.
True. I mean, is it really a shock that Keane reacted how she did esp. after what happened to her in the finale and during the whole season. I definitely would've been looking over my shoulder! And looking for serious retribution!
Just finished it. I liked it. It felt a bit different to previous seasons. That's what keeps this show interesting is that they change it up every now and again.

I'm still watching but I ask myself "why?" every week while watching. The quality has dropped embarrassingly low.
Reminds me of how the show Damages suddenly plummeted from fantastic to rubbish.

The writers understand conservatives about as well as Christians understand gays.

The previous season set in Germany was very strong. Last season started out slow but I thought the finale was powerful (especially the final shot).

This is one of my favorite shows and it certainly isn't one that I would ever see myself abandoning.
The Quinn episode fucked me up.
