　裁判法院法官高希敏（宣萱饰）升职，被调迁至北区裁判处。葛国光（陈锦鸿饰）一心照顾家庭，两人的交集越来越少。国光两个妹妹葛宝怡（唐诗咏饰）和葛宝贝（陈思齐饰）忙于事业学业早出晚归，母亲钟锭英（吕珊饰）生活上毫无寄托，国光就把母亲接到家中帮忙打理家务和照顾孩子。可母亲和妻子在生活细节上却相处不来，反而令希敏非常困扰。然而矛盾不止于此，两夫妻间的鸿沟日益渐深。而上天又跟希敏开了场玩笑，她并非高天（骆应钧饰）的亲生女儿。
