The Comet network is now showing 1999 on Saturday and Sunday nights. Two eps per night starting at 9PM central time. They run an hour and 15 minutes, so they are not cutting them.

That's cool, Jet! I hope new and old fans alike are having a good time watching the uncut episodes.
Jet, have you or anyone else heard of a project to re-edit season 1 of Space: 1999 with CGI special effects? A few years ago, I had read of this ambitious undertaking...can't remember which company is spearheading it, but they were going to remaster every season 1 episode with CGI and fix glaring mistakes (like helmet visors flipping up during moon walks) similar to remastered TOS. They did a preliminary video of their work and I remember it looking quite well done. I haven't heard anything about this project since. Anways, I would love to see an updated episode using today's special effects. Probably just another idea that never got off the drawing board. Pity.

Speaking as someone who thinks most of the "remastered" TOS effects look more fake than the originals, I wouldn't look forward to that. 1999 did a really good job with models, as you'd expect from Gerry Anderson.
