Puhar was born in Sremska Mitrovica in Serbia's Vojvodina region. She fled to New York in 2000 as a result of the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War.
Puhar was a contestant on Cycle 21 of America's Next Top Model, where she placed eighth.
On February 24, 2015, Puhar, her boyfriend, and a friend were killed during a home robbery.
