Polly Coombes

Biography

Polly is 20, lives in Reading and has been working professionally as an actress since she was 11. She started off in musical theatre as Lavender in Matilda the Musical, West End. Since then, she has branched out into short films such as 'O Magic Power of Bleakness' by turner prize winner, Mark Leckey, and commercials for companies such as the British Heart Foundation and Amazon.

Alongside school, Polly trained with the RADA Youth Company and the National Youth Theatre.

After finishing A Levels, Polly decided to take two years off to explore other sectors of the industry, training herself in writing, composing and directing. Her directorial debut, Forget Me Knot, was selected for 5 festivals, winning an award at the London International Monthly Film Festival, and is being screened at the Ealing Film festival on the 27th of November.

She is currently training in filmmaking at the National Film and Television School (NFTS).

Polly has danced professionally in music videos for artists based around Reading. Her dance styles vary from commercial, contemporary and hip hop and she is also trained in tap, modern and ballet to an Intermediate Level.

Hobbies include several sports such as football which she plays every Sunday for the local Ladies 1st Team.
