Biography
Scorpio was born Wilbur James Weiss Jr. on November 1, 1952 in Trenton, New Jersey. The oldest in a family of four children, Weiss Jr. grew up in a country trailer park. Wilbur left home at age eighteen and worked in a factory in Washington, D.C. as well as did sales in Miami, Florida, skated in a roller derby in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and tried modelling in New York before deciding to become a male stripper. Weiss Jr. first started stripping in straight clubs in New Jersey prior to dancing in gay bars and branching out to pose for magazine shoots. Wilbur did dancing gigs in such places as Long Island, New York City, and Connecticut. Moreover, his proud mother Mildred made his stripping costumes and turned up at gay clubs to see him strip. Weiss Jr. eventually moved to New York and answered an ad in Topman magazine stating "Models Wanted." Through said ad Wilbur met the team behind the adult production company Hand in Hand Films and subsequently went on to appear in a handful of gay porn movies. Weiss Jr. quit doing gay porn in the mid-1980's and initially moved to Miami, Florida to work in an adult bookstore before settling down in Pensacola, Florida as a hairstylist. Wilbur died at age 46 of stomach cancer and complications from AIDS on December 24, 1998 at his home in Pensacola.
