Police Commander Louise Chaland is investigating the murder of a controversial sculptor with the help of her son Sylvain, who has become a priest. The body was discovered alongside one of his works, which has been daubed with Latin inscriptions. They soon establish a link with the disappearance of a relic of Saint Martin, the patron saint of the city of Tours. Their investigation leads them to a shelter for the needy, run by François Delcourt and his daughter, who was in love with the murdered artist. Clues start to reveal the disturbing fascination some inhabitants of Tours have with the missing relic. Louise and Sylvain will discover the rich historical and religious heritage of the city as the secular mother and pious son come to some sort of a reconciliation.

En Thomas Raglain, "Rag", apareix assassinat al seu taller, al peu d'un nu femení, on han escrit amb la seva sang una frase en llatí. La comandant encarregada d'investigar el cas, Louise Chaland, estableix de seguida la vinculació del cas amb la figura de sant Martí, bisbe de la ciutat al segle IV. El que no es pot imaginar la comandant és que, indirectament, també hi està implicat el seu fill Sylvain, capellà, amb el qual no ha tingut gaire contacte d'ençà que el va deixar criar als avis. Aprofitant que el té a mà, tanmateix, el recluta per a la investigació, tot mirant d'evitar que es posi en perill. L'artista assassinat és un dels principals sospitosos d'haver sostret de l'interior d'una estàtua del sant una de les seves relíquies, de valor inestimable.

Mrtvola sochaře byla nalezena u jednoho z jeho děl, na které pachatel doplnil nápis v latině. Neobvyklá dvojice vyšetřovatelů matky se synem zjišťuje, že existuje jisté spojení mezi vraždou a zmizením relikvie svatého Martina, ochránce města Tours. Během vyšetřování nevěřící matka a její zbožný syn odhalují bohatou historii města i jeho náboženské dědictví. Podaří se jim přitom dojít i ke vzájemnému usmíření?

Le commandant Louise Chaland, épaulée par son fils Sylvain, prêtre, enquête sur le meurtre d’un sculpteur subversif dont le cadavre a été retrouvé à côté d’une de ses toiles couverte d’inscriptions en latin. Ils font rapidement le lien avec la disparition d’une relique de Saint-Martin, saint patron de Tours. Leurs investigations les guident vers un refuge pour nécessiteux, tenu par François Delcourt et sa fille Agnès, laquelle entretenait des liens amoureux avec le sculpteur retrouvé assassiné. Comment ne pas être troublé par l’importance qu’attachent certains à cette relique ? Cette enquête les emmènera à la découverte du patrimoine historique et religieux de la ville et vers une sorte de « réconciliation » entre la mère laïque et le fils devenu prêtre.
