Overview |
Vienna in 1931. Fanny, the daughter of a Vienna police trainer, meets the Chinese police officer Ma Yunlong, who is completing specialist training in Vienna. The shy acquaintance quickly turns into great love. Against the will of her parents, Fanny travels to China on her 18th birthday to marry Yunlong. At his side, Fanny begins a new life in the Middle Kingdom, which is characterized by deprivation and painful turns due to the multiple political upheavals. |

Die wahre Geschichte einer Österreicherin, die heute hoch betagt im Kreise ihrer Kinder und Enkel in einem kleinen Dorf südlich von Shanghai lebt. Wien im Jahre 1931: Fanny Ebner, Tochter eines Polizei-Ausbildners, begegnet dem chinesischen Polizeibeamten Ma Yunlong der an einem Trainingskurs in Wien teilnimmt. Die zuerst schüchternen Annäherungen verwandeln sich in eine leidenschaftliche Liebe. Trotz dieser Liebe sind die kulturellen Unterschiede einfach zu groß und scheinen unüberwindbar. Fanny´s Eltern lehnen das Verhältnis ab. |
