The Agony & the Eggstasy
Eddie is given the responsibility of baby-sitting his sister Abby, who's still unhatched from her egg. But instead of sitting on the egg like he was asked to, he puts it on top of the TV to keep it warm! Making sure he's got TV's hottest show on - ""The Eggs Files"", Eddie goes off with his friends to the BIRDBRAINZ arcade! Upon his return, he not only discovers that Abby has hatched in his absence, but that she's completely flown the coop! He tracks her down safe and sound, but not before learning the importance of taking responsibilities seriously.

Eddie gets jealous when Gregory gives Miss Finch a small gift and receives her warmhearted thanks in return. Eddie's so desperate to win her affections, he borrows Morty's credit card and buys extravagant gifts for Miss Finch and all his friends! But when Morty gets his outrageously high credit bill, Eddie has to take the gifts back - and learn that there's a big difference between a heartfelt present and one given only to buy someone's favour.

Eddie is doing some investigative journalism for an assignment at school. Looking for some really dramatic story in hurry, Eddie overhears Morty talking about a murder novel he is reading... only it's true! Eddie's suspicions are heightened by the eccentric behaviour of a neighbor, whom Eddie accuses of being the escaped criminal from the novel! As a mob forms outside the reclusive vulture's house, Eddie has to admit what he's done and learns a valuable lesson about jumping to conclusions and spreading false rumours.

Eddie decides it's time for Tommy to fly like a real bird when Tommy's ""flight training"" balloon jeopardizes Eddie's chances of winning Spring Robin's heart. (feathery chest -- just kidding!) Tommy explains that turkey's aren't supposed to fly, but Eddie convinces him that he'll never know unless he tries! When Tommy's flight attempt ends in a disastrous crash, Eddie realizes that everyone has different limitations and should be accepted the way they are.

Whippoorwill Smith's latest film ""Birdz in Black"" inspires Eddie to shoot a film for the upcoming Birdland film festival. Eddie's friends are thrilled when he casts them for the film. However, when they discover that Eddie intentionally accentuated all of their worst features to make them look like freaks, they're furious! But when Eddie has a nightmare where aliens mock his scrawny, chicken legs, he quickly realizes how much it hurts when the show is on the other claw.

Eddie's ecstatic when he hears that Birdman, his comic book hero, is actually fighting crime in the streets of Birdland! Eddie follows Officer Pigeon around to catch Birdman on film, but in the process gets in Officer Pigeon's way so he can't do his job and ends up being fired. When Eddie discovers Birdman is only Principal Pip in disguise, Eddie helps Officer Pigeon get his job back and learns that REAL super heroes are the every day birds who make a difference.

The Storkowitzes migrate southward with Mr. Nuthatch, but Eddie procrastinates and forgets to pack the necessary equipment. As a result, he gets lost and is unable to signal for help.

Morty wants to spend more time with Eddie, and it's driving Eddie nuts! He finally escapes to his bird scout summer camp only to find that Morty is a volunteer leader! Morty fumbles his way through various camping disasters but when they come face to face with the incredible mountain duck Sasquack, it is Morty who saves the day. Eddie realizes that his dad is a pretty clever old bird, and learns that parent may not be able to do everything well, but you should appreciate them for what they can do.

Eddie can't sing a note, but that doesn't stop him from trying out for the lead in the school's spring musical! Together with Gregory Woodpecker, who has stage fright but sings brilliantly, Eddie lip- synchs to Greg's voice - and a star is hatched! Only after being showered with praise does Eddie realize that Gregory is the one who deserves it! His attempts to get Gregory on stage almost stop the show, but Eddie's persistence pays off! Gregory overcomes his stage fright, and the musical is a smashing success!

Vying for Riley's acceptance as a ""cool bird"", Eddie starts getting into all sorts of trouble - failing school, beaking off to his parents and flying out on chores. Eddie's envy really soars when Riley quits school and gets a job - and his parents don't even seem to care! However, when Eddie discovers that Riley isn't happy and wishes he had parents who did care, Eddie begins to realize that his parents lay down the law out of love and caring.

When Eddie misses close up footage of Arnold Schwarzenegret because he doesn't have a zoom lens, Eddie informs his parents that he must buy the new Koduck 750 telephoto zoom - it's vital to his career! Eddie's parents admire his creative spirit and offer to pay for half of the lens, but Eddie must come up with the rest of the money! Eddie embarks on a series of get rich quick schemes to earn easy money and hatches a deal with his friends to do all the work for him! Naturally, Eddie's plan backfires and he resorts to Plan B - collecting endangered fish that his sister is trying to protect and selling them to a mystery buyer. However, when Eddie discovers that the mystery buyer is Scoop Pelican, the owner of a seafood restaurant, his conscience kicks in. Going against his character, Eddie walks away from the money - and the Koduck 750, and returns the fish to the pond. Eddie's parents are so impressed with his decision that they offer him a house chore in exchange for the lens, and Eddie

When the kids are assigned an 'I like me because..."" project, Eddy decides to make his as a movie, and gets Sleepy to videotape him. During the shoot however, Eddie gets obsessed with the size of his beak! He tries everything to hide his big proboscis, including makeup and even a beakshrinker device. Eddie is so bent on reducing his beak that he nearly has a beak job done! Only when Miss Finch reminds him that birds are known for their feats, not for their beaks, does he see things differently. A la Humphrey Birdgart, he says: ""It doesn't take no Bird Pitt or Robert Redbird to figure out that I like me because of who I am, sweetheart. Not how I look!""

Eddie and his pals try to join a hip group of Birdz called 'The Kildares', but are rejected. This leads them to start their own, comedy-based club, 'The Loons'. Sleepy, Tommy and Gregory vote to keep the club small, but Eddie wants it to outnumber the Kildares. Holding a membership drive, the club is swamped by a hoard of wannabes doing comedy shtick, and the boys have a falling out. This gets Eddie noticed by the Kildares, who agree to let him join their club - if he can beat their leader in a flying test! Eddie out-flies the top Kildare, but rejects the group entirely, opting to rejoin his pals instead. Eddie realizes that you don't have to belong to any club to feel like you're part of something special.
