If anyone here has ever met a GH actor past or present, please list them as well as when and some details. I'm sure it was mentioned at some point on the other board but I can't remember. I must have amnesia. Perhaps I'm a dead Port Charles resident and I don't even know it! LOL
I had the chance to meet Tyler Christopher today. He was in my town for an event. But I chose to go to work. To be fair, I'm a new associate so it might not have been the best idea to call in. But I lost a chance to meet the Prince. So I just should have done it!

I don't think that's true at all, most actors don't act because they seek fame, they act because they enjoy acting and are good at it. Fame is an accidental and often unintentional byproduct.
Look at someone like William H Macy. Do you think he ever had the ambition to be famous? I rather doubt that.
Most actors are content being largely unknown to the public, some of them to the point where you never even see them in their roles. I'll be honest, I'm not sure I even know what Gary Oldman looks like without all the makeup he wears onscreen, he inhabits his roles so thoroughly, that in every movie he looks different. Compare him in Dracula, Harry Potter, and Air Force One. He looks so different in each role and has a different voice in each role, that it's hard to believe it's the same guy in all three movies. And just as I'm not completely sure what he looks like offset, I'm not sure that I know what his real voice sounds like either. Clearly, this is not a guy seeking fame.

I have no idea how you reached the conclusion that most actors don't want to be famous. I spent almost 20 years working in theater in NYC and I can tell you I never met that elusive creature. Actors who seek obscurity don't audition for major Hollywood movies and TV shows, and I have never heard of an actor who became famous "by accident" unless you mean by scandal or tragedy.

It is not that difficult to tell the difference between an actor who is seeking the spotlight and one who isn't. If an actor craves fame, he behaves in a certain way. And he definitely behaves differently from someone who doesn't crave the spotlight.
Most actors are character actors, they are content with a lot of small roles in big productions and don't feel the need to be the 'star'. They are happy just being an actor.
For every 'superstar' in Hollywood who gets all the press, there are a dozen or more character actors who spend decades doing nothing but small, walk-on parts. These are the actors the moment you see them you recognize them, but you don't remember from where, you say 'now, where have I seen him before?' and the answer is 'you've seen him in small parts in about 100 different movies', you can never quite remember where you've seen him, because you've seen him everywhere. There are lots of actors out there who are content with this kind of career because they don't really want the fame that comes with being the star, they just want to act and get paid for it. And the career of a character actors tends to be much, much longer than the career of a 'star' actor. Stars have careers that go up and down, sometimes going years between roles, but characters actors never have that problem, because there is always another role for them the moment their current project wraps up.
Sure, there are a lot of attention whores in Hollywood who spend all day screaming 'look at me!', certainly, all those actors who spend all their time lecturing people about politics, appearing in all those anti-Trump videos and whatnot, are people who crave fame. All those actors who are constantly on the cover of the supermarket tabloids, these are people who crave fame and attention.
But those guys make up such a small portion of all the actors in Hollywood. Most actors are character actors.
Daytime tends to attract the actors who want to act but don't really want to be the center of attention or be a major star who gets hounded by fans.

Having interviewed 20 actors thus far, they ALL want fame. Even the character actors have dreamt of being stars. Most settle for and are happy to just make a living, but almost all were inspired by stars and not character actors. While they don't wanna be stalked they appreciate being recognized, and almost all had tales of the first or most bizarre time someone recognized them.

My negative opinion of Kimberly is based on her own anecdotes, tweets, YouTube channel interviews and how she handled the Stamos 80's thing. Personally I think she thought her directing career would free her from needing GH. But it's like she keeps bringing up GH because she needs to remind people who she is to keep up interest in her directing projects. But, when she feels she is recognized and it doesn't benefit her (re NYU) she gets a haughty attitude abou it.
In any case she plays a Legacy Character on GH and I have no problem with her returning to GH, even if she goes on contract. I'm guessing steady work on GH is better for her now that she's having a child. Just because I don't like her personally doesn't mean I don't want her on GH. The more Legacy Characters the better IMO

And many actors think they're more famous than they actually are. LOL. I think many want it on their own terms. They enjoy fame for what it gives (adoration, fawning, special treatment, free stuff) and then whine about the down side (lack of privacy, gossip, rude criticism, intrusive fans). You can't cherry-pick.

It doesn't surprise me either!
