So....Michael and Nelle go to the cabin, then suddenly a freak blizzard strikes and they get stranded there...
This is what happens when people who live in Los Angeles try to write a story about a winter storm.
I have spent most of my life living in places where there is actually winter, every year. And I can tell you that when there's a major snowstorm that leaves you stranded in your home for days, they don't come on all of a sudden just completely out of nowhere. You know about the storm days in advance.
In fact, if I pull out my phone and look at the Weather Channel app, I see that there is an 80% chance of snow on Friday this week, and then I look at the extended forecast, and I see that there is again an 80% chance of snow next week on Thursday.
So, today is Tuesday, and I already know that we will probably have snow on Friday, three days in advance. This isn't a major storm, we're only supposed to get about 1-2 inches, just a light dusting really, but I know about it 3 days in advance.
If there was a major storm coming, the mayor would have already declared a snow emergency for Friday, and the city would already be preparing for the snow, everyone would be rushing to the grocery store, buying salt in case we get icy sidewalks etc.
Major snowstorms don't come on as a surprise out of nowhere. The only way that Michael and Nelle could possibly get stuck in a cabin in the middle of nowhere during a major blizzard is if they are complete morons who ignored all the weather warnings.

I was trying to be nice, but now I guess I have to be more blunt: this is what happens when happens a story is written by a complete incompetent who has his own head shoved so far up his own butt that he can't sit down without getting a broken neck.

I was confused why Nelle and Michael suddenly had to get naked to keep warm because "their clothes are wet".

That actually reminded me of the really horrible science fiction movie from the 70's 'Logan's Run', which contains a scene where the two main characters, played by Jenny Agutter and Michael York, go swimming in really cold water, and when they get out of the water Michael York abruptly says 'now we have to take our clothes off', which quickly leads to one of the most gratuitous nude scenes I have ever seen in a movie that wasn't actually a soft-core Skinemax late night flick, and it's obvious that the director was a man, because of the two, the only one you actually see naked is Jenny Agutter.

Except the writers are both females. lol
In fact they just both won awards for the SAG this past weekend. A major accomplishment. lol I'm trying to find out who the other nominees against them were.
As for the snowstorm though... You pretty much summed it up. It would have been more intriguing though if it served as some form of romantic backdrop for Michael & Nelle finally hooking up but 10 to 1 their kiss is interrupted tomorrow and that will be the end of that.

Yes but look at the comments. "How can you be proud when you were the only ones nominated?"

Ha No wonder I couldn't find out any of the other nominees. lol
So did the other soaps just not care enough to submit entries?

So you've answered your own question. I want to know how far away this cabin is from Port Charles. Maybe there's a mountain range that's blocking the storm from hitting Port Charles, but that would put it closer to Pennsylvania I guess. If the cabin is relatively far away (say 2 hour drive, which is entirely possible), an approaching storm that will not hit the city might not have gotten major coverage. And since Michael and Nelle are not in their late 70s, I assume their not glued to The Weather Channel all day.
