It is released very early on Friday Ireland time (I don't remember if its 1am or 2am). That means that it is available Thursday evening in the United States, its country of origin.
Oh I didn't know it was released that early in Ireland. It wasn't available where I was in mainland Europe until 9am. Regardless, in all the promos, Apple put the release date for episode 1 as 23 June (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60HYUl2aO8I), which is a Friday. Shouldn't this follow what the production company puts out?

No. The date should be the one when it is available in its country of origin (which is the United States).
