She wasn't gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. She was in love with Chakotay. They both went to an early grave until Janeway went back to change the outcome in the last episode of Voyager. Seven also lost Icheb so Raffi would know Seven understood about losing Elnor.

It's not so much that they made Seven gay/bi, but that they stuck her with Raffi. As if Seven couldn't bag a hotter, less assholish girlfriend. But let's be real, they made her gay because it's current year and all old popular characters either have their legacies ruined or are turned gay. They would make James Bond gay if given a chance.

It's already happened in the comics. James Gunn could make a show about that. He has announced a movie based on "DC Comics Wildstorm: The Authority", where the superhero team Midnighter and his lover Apollo are seen as a parallel of Batman and Superman.
