Discuss Wild Bill

An American disgraced cop is sent to Boston Lincolnshire to take up the role of Chief Constable. Of course he is not welcome and the way he is spoken to and treated is absolutely ridiculous - subordinate officers would never speak to a superior officer in the way, let alone a Chief Constable as they do in this series. (Can you imagine Morse speaking to his Chief Constable like that?) A female DC speaks to him like an equal - she of course does most of the crime solving - as is politically correct these days. In episode one a severed head is found in a fridge - they eventually discover that she threw herself from a wind machine and the blades severed her head - the likelihood of that is very small - and even if it did happen - what happened to her body - no mention was made of that. A fellow female officer distributes a tape of him assaulting a man who bullied his daughter - which results in suspension from duty for a few days for him - he tells her he knows it was her and she tells him she doesn't care if he knows - and he takes no action against her. In Episode 2 a firearms officer turns up to a gun threat in progress and his gun isn't loaded because he didn't want to risk hurting anybody!! Of course the compulsory gay subplot is shoe-horned in - mustn't forget to tick THAT box even when it is totally irrelevant. In Episode 3 a priest tells Wild Bill what a parishioner has just asked him - unheard of. The people who write this series are living on a different planet to the rest of us.

Cancelled after one series - what a surprise? Terrible everything. Rob Lowe absolutely wasted in this crock of excrement.
