I checked the official BBC website and each episode is listed as 100 minutes long.

Oh, I see why. It's listed as a 2-episode season here. It was also released as a 4-episode season, with 50 minute runtimes per episode. I'm guessing that's a regional thing. Is there any way to account for that on TMDB?

No, there is no way to account for different episode counts/splits. We go by how the series was aired on the original network. I noticed the BBC doesn't even list a four-episode version.
