...how will it overcome the dismal ratings? I wish people had trusted that Kevin Williamson would deliver a great show. Maybe he needs more humility so he will work harder to earn an audience in the beginning? Or maybe Timeless getting on the air first doomed the show?

I only just watched the movie Time after Time with Malcom McDowell just recently. I had no idea it was made into a tv series. I just watched the trailer, looks good.
I started watching Timeless but lost interest.
I'm always a little bothered when watching a new series, eg I loved Forever, thought it great, The lead character was excellent. It just started to get really interesting and they canned it after the first season. I still don't know why..
Re: dismal ratings. I notice there's only been four episodes aired? Maybe it's not being promoted enough? Although I know nothing about how American tv shows works. Trouble is these days, they don't give them enough time to really settle in. I remember Friends and Seinfeld weren't that popular at the beginning, actually I thought Seinfeld was pretty bad, but given time it turned out to be one of the best comedies as did Friends.

That is such a good point. Shows aren't given a chance to find an audience. All part of our instant gratification society. Time after Time ratings are particularly low, not winning its time slot, and losing half the audience from its lead-in show. I think those are all considered bad stats.

Exactly, if it's not an over night hit it's out

I'm just hoping it goes for it's entire season run (which seems likely). I dont much care for a S2 at this point.
