After finishing season 2 I found myself kind of disappointed after the great season 1. Admittedly I’ve never been a fan of religious zealot villains (not because it offends me, I’m not religious). There’s something about them that bores me. There were just too many fantastical things that happened because “TV” needed them to happen. I know Frank is a very tough and determined man but how many brutal beatings is one guy meant to be able to take in short span of time and still function worth a damn, let alone live. That went for the John character too after the fight with his ex- nazi comrades. He just went on and on but should have been totally out of commission. I think they should have resolved the religious angle midway and had the sole focus be on Jigsaw. Whenever it was Frank, Curtis and Billy it got interesting. I know they wanted to have the girl character to make Frank more human but they should have had her out earlier.
In this day and age too it was just ridiculous that the deaths of so many would be sanctioned to hide the dude’s son was gay. Plus it just didn’t jibe that John’s devotion to the Schultz’s over-rid awareness that God isn’t down with wholesale mass murder. If the girl or Frank had just gone to the media right away with the pics etc the carnage would have been done with and they would have stopped chasing the girl because no point to any more.
And yes.....Madani just doesn’t work for me at all. I tolerated her in S1 but she flat out bugged in S2. Unfortunately I guess she’s a central character in this show but I can’t stand her. Her fight with the Doc was as annoying as her character. A trained DHS agent can’t overcome in a reasonable number of moves a complete novice, no bigger than her. It was all too obvious the window thing was being set to happen. Anyway, I only complain because I enjoyed S1 so much and think Bernthal is great as Frank Castle. Hope S3 happens and it gets Castle back in the groove of being the actual Punisher.
Well said and I agree with most of your assessment. I did enjoy the young girl and Frank's chemistry. I feel like that was supposed to mimic how he would be with his own daughter. I don't think Frank's beatings are going to stop since he is relentless when it comes to "punishing". I guess that is his super power, the ability to withstand beatings.
I also found the overly religious character very boring and unnecessary (I am not religious). I honestly really didn't understand why Frank would spare him just because he has kids. I guess perhaps because the guy was killing other scum. Had the religious guy killed Beth, he would have sealed his fate. And you are right, it seems like such an easy solution as far as outing the photos but Frank is all about fixing things on his own, I suppose.
I did not enjoy the psychobabble nor the doctor's character either. The fight scene with Madani was pitiful. Madani just proves how useless she is. Always figuring things out way too late! I agree that Jigsaw, Curtis and Frank together was way more interesting.
Something tells me there wont be a third season. I hope I am wrong.

Both Frank and Daredevil should have more concussions then all of the NFL

Seems like Daredevil suffers more pounding to the body; but, yeah both definitinely should.
