Of course, the one I "told" was a poster at IMDb and as far as I'm concerned they might as well have passed into the great beyond when the boards did, but I will not be denied my "oh yeah I was totally right" moment.

Toby is totally an abuser. He checks off every single early warning on every list ever published on the subject.

There was a good discussion on it at IMDb but one pursed-lipped dillhole of a human being kept telling me I was "1000% wrong about Toby." I told her to watch and wait and on that day he finally crosses a line even a dim bulb like her could see, I would be psychically staring and shaking my head at her.

So this is my holding thread for that. I feel better knowing it exists.

I do feel that Toby is a saboteur. He fits the "misery loves company" persona. Every time she tries to do something to gain confidence and make healthy choices, there he is..."Kate-us Interrupt-us". Showing up at her health camp was the last straw in my book. It shows his insecurity. Making her feel guilty because he was laid up in the hospital was utterly unfair to her. She left the camp, but honestly, could have fought the jerk in Cabin 13's parents over that scenario. Toby wants to stay in a comfort zone and seems toxic to Kate. Yes, he seems like a nice fellow, but he isn't allowing her to do the things she needs to do to heal.

I was never a Toby fan .... I see what he's got but I don't like how bossy he is with Kate. I was uncomfortable with him getting mad at Kate for putting Kevin first .... I hate when people don't know their place. LOL You may have hit the nail on the head with him!

So, if you are right then this will be your victory thread!!!!

Him whining over being their for her brother was a definite red flag. It seems as though he is threatened by everything good in her life.

I've been on the Toby is a creepy bandwagon after the first few episodes. Getting her drunk at that big Hollywood party, followed by having a fit because she's close with her brother. Then there was making her give up the job with his ex because that would upset him too much and horning in on her wanting to watch a football game alone. He's just got toxic boyfriend/stalker written all over him.

I love this place way more than IMDb.

I'm enjoying it, too. Hopefully more people will come over.

Kay Rock- you called it way back. I like Toby but he is definitely a controller of Kate. Maybe it will come out that this is what happened in his first marriage, or that his weight problem is secondary to his controlling behavior in his personal life.
When you point out all the behaviors so far coming from him- its obvious. Good call!

Toby is the guy who always has to be funny but turns out not to be so funny once you really get to know him. He's a vampire who drains your life's essence.

Hmm, interesting. I never saw Toby that way but I guess you have a point. I mean him with Kevin... OK I get that blood is thicker than water but jeez Kevin needed to grow a pair. He's a grown man who made his decisions and now has to come through with them on his own. Yes quitting a safe job is scary but he can't just cry to or ask Kate for help every second when it gets hard. He needed to figure it out for himself. Honestly, I thought Kevin's the creeper. I mean he catfished his ex for God's sake! And he STILL gets the girl. Wow. But I guess time will tell if you're right about Toby.
