Yes, unfortunately the envelope drama has overshadowed some of the other important wins of the night. This one was incredibly well-deserved.
I spent my New Year's Day watching this entire film at a local theatre. It was a breathtaking documentary and absolutely deserved to win. I always tell people it's about so much more than OJ.
It was a good doc, and I'm glad it won. However, I think anything with this run time is more of a series than a film. I couldn't imagine watching the whole thing in one sitting. It worked well in parts.
@TheBayHarborButcher As someone who did watch it in one sitting, I feel like it's definitely doable only because it's so insanely interesting from start to finish that I didn't even notice the time passing. However, people have different tolerances for how long they can sit in a theatre or even sit watching something at home, so I get it. When I saw it the theatre gave us 15-minute breaks between each part, plus a 30-minute break for dinner. Even still, when I told my boyfriend about it his response was "Have fun going alone, because that sounds like a ****ing nightmare"

Very true. The way in which it gives details of OJ's trail, the context of race relations, etc makes for absorbing viewing.
