I thought the show was extremely well done. I was interested as to how the finale was going to address what happened in the book and was very impressed. I was still on the edge of my seat even though I knew what was going to happen. Like any show, it leaves out parts of the book but this stayed pretty much on point even though it left out some things from the book. It tackled all the major stuff accurately. Really enjoyed the book and the show.

I agree! Despite having read the book and already knowing what happened in the end I was still sitting there like "omg...what's gonna happen next??" I really liked the ending. I feel like it was beautiful how it reinforced the bond between these women who originally would snipe and hate on each other. It was kinda beautiful. That something so terrible could breed something so lovely as what looks like a strong group friendship.

I couldn't agree more! I do miss seeing all the little details that are in the book, but everything they did was fantastic. The added story of Madeline's affair was surprising, but it did add to the story in a good way. I rewatched the ending at least three times and it was so well done. I really wouldn't mind if they keep this going to a second season.

I re watched the whole finale twice, and will probably still watch it again.
That would be great, but if they don't I am satisfied with the ending.

I had not read the book and have to say I'm glad.... really was well done and I was on the edge of my seat. I had guessed he might be the rapist but was not at all sure. Such a good show, really enjoyed it.

I had the same reaction. I have to give major props to Jean-Marc Vallée whose directing has been fabulous. The finale was so tense from the moment Perry finds out about Celeste's plan to the final scene. His use of the 'ocean' and music in the series was brilliant. I just love his directing style and he seems to bring out the very best in all his performers.
And to those performers themselves, extraordinary work from everyone, too bad the Emmy's don't do a 'best ensemble' category.
The 5 women coming together at the end was so powerful and moving, they fought for each other, then they consoled and lastly they bonded.
