How many TV shows have used variations on the Mission: Impossible formula?
"Back in the day" I read in TV Guide that The A Team was a blue-collar version of IMF.
I just went to the Scorpion board. I didn't post, just read. I have never watched or seen an episode of Scorpion, but one poster referred to it as a nerd version of The A Team. So ... by extension isn't Scorpion a nerd version of Mission: Impossible? Can any Scorpion viewers enlighten me? Or offer other opinions? Thank you.

I haven't seen Scorpions, but from what I've heard it's about some nerds who do espionage missions for the US. That certainly sounds like Mission: Impossible, The Nerd Years.

Neither have I. I don't have access to cable or regular tv. I just watch my DVDS.

I'm glad that you liked it. Now, going OT, have you ever seen Cowboys And Aliens? I like to call it James Bond: The Western.

Yes, I do like it. I can't understand why a lot of people trashed it. I like both Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig. They pulled the film together. I haven't bought the DVD, but I try to watch it every time it's on TNT or SYFY or Spike or even FX.

I remember that when I saw it on opening day, the audience would start cheering whenever Daniel's character would hit Harrison Ford's bratty son Percy (who would anyone in a Western name their son Percy?)

I would love to start a thread on the right board here, debating the merits of each James Bond actor. Is there one that would address them all?
Back to the original post, I have never seen Scorpion. I lost interest in CBS on Monday nights when they cancelled Intelligence. It was like Chuck on steroids. Anyone remember it?
Carrying on with Maria's posts, though: Mission: Impossible - The impostor Years (the Tom Cruise abominations, which have nothing to do with the REAL Mission: Impossible!!)

Yeah, I remember Chuck, especially season five because Timothy Dalton was the bad guy

@lima-2 : Wasn't Intelligence the spy show that starred Josh Holloway (previously on Lost and now on Colony)?

That's the one! And his uber-hot co-star Meghan Ory.

Speaking of TV spy series, one of my favorite ones is MI5 (or as it was called in England, Spooks). It ran from 2001 to 2011 on BBC.
This show was awesome! It was about the British Intelligence Agency MI5 (their version of the FBI). These guys investigated all sorts of things, would throw warp 5 plot twists, and it was randomly killing cast members before doing that was cool.
