Discuss Mission: Impossible

I forgot to post about this episode. Another personal type of episode where the group gets involved as a favor to Jim. I thought it was great. I know we've discussed the Town before, but what other episodes have they done that weren't official missions and were more of a personal nature that turned into missions? I remember there was one where Jim went to his old home town, but i can't recall any others.

I remember The Condemned. Haven't seen it in a while. Kevin Hagen (the Doc from Little House on the Prairie) played Jim's friend. I think the gimmick they used was a false wall in the jail cell. The Homecoming was the other episode you referred to. Loretta Swit (Hotlips from MASH) was in it. I believe it was a Lesley Warren (season 5?) episode. I don't care much for many seasons after # 3, but I watched them grudgingly. I liked this one because it definitely breaks the Geller formula. We learn what Jim's father did for a living, and that Jim himself was in the Navy. I swear, in the crowd scene outside the court house, that Marcia and Jan Brady are there! Can't see it very clearly. Beyond these few, post-3 season 'sodes, I don't know if there any others like this. Didn't pay that close attention.

Yeah that was great when willy came in hiding the false wall. But yeah that's it the Homecoming. I don't remember if I liked that episode or not, but I guess i'll find out soon enough. But I will definitely look for Marcia and Jan when I do watch it! There was that first season episode I forgot to mention. dan's friend's daughter was kidnapped or something like that. That was a pretty good episode. \

That kidnapping episode was called Ransom, I believe. Haven't seen it in years, but it was almost a premonition of The Syndicate Years from seasons 6 and 7. For a season one ep, it was another refreshing break from the Geller formula, which was still be established at the time. A very enjoyable episode.

@lima-2 : I thought The Ransom was a good episode. One of the things I've always noticed in season one was that Dan Briggs seemed to have a quiet menace in his personality.

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

@lima-2 sunglasses There's also an episode in season four (I can't remember the name of it), when the gang has to go to some South American country to help rescue Barney. Cicely Tyson played the love interest for Barney in that episode.

I remember that episode as well, nor can I remember it's name. But it was a huge casting coup to get Cicely Tyson!!

All I remember is the kiss scene at the beginning

I remember that the bad guy was the same actor who played Elena's boyfriend in the season one episode Elena.
