A police officer wrongly accuses LAI MUK-GAN of letting his dog foul in public places. LAW LIK-AH, his neighbor who is a barrister, goes up to his help. But because of AH’s unkempt appearance, the police officer refuses to believe that he is a lawyer. AH leaves in no time while getting an emergency call from a social worker, TING KA-FU. A group of tenants is faced with a drastic rent increase. KA-FU reasons with their new landlord. The police officer requests AH to prove his identity as a barrister. GEORGE MIKE JR., who is also a working barrister, arrives in a limousine and explains to the police officer for AH. KA-FU takes the tenants to the Civil Legal Center. They appoint AH to negotiate with their new landlord. WONG SZ-FU appears in court with her assistant CHEUNG CHI-SUM. Renowned barrister TSEUNG PAK-KEI also has a case today. SZ-FU tries her best to let his case be heard first. It is SZ-FU’s wish to join KEI’s law firm……

SUM and SZ-FU chill out at a bar. SUM thinks AH is as outstanding as he was in his prime, yet SZ-FU does not think so. AH is chatting with his neighbors when a woman falls from a building. GAN claims he has killed the woman. HA and GEORGE accompany him to the police station. GAN says when he is giving a statement that he killed SHEUNG CHAU-PING as requested by MA CHEUK YEE-TAK, the wife of his boss. After visiting PING’s younger brother, CHUN-SANG, at his shop, AH and GEROGE conclude that the case is not as simple as it seems. TAK is surrounded by reporters. SZ-FU appears suddenly and reprimands the reporters. TAK is very grateful to her help and decides to hire SZ-FU as her representing lawyer. KAN is being kept in a detention center. AH and GEORGE visit him. AH is puzzled why GAN has to defend TAK. KING quarrels with her neighbors, who are of the view that SZ-FU should not help TAK.

GAN has failed to show up at court as a witness. SZ-FU teases at AH. SZ-FU learns from SANG’s testimony that PING shares a similar background to her. Judged by her facial expression, AH can see that SZ-FU sympathizes with PING. AH, GEORGE and KA-FU are adjusting the Civil Legal Center’s antenna on his roof. CHIK shows up and tells them AUNTIE GAN, GAN’s wife, is recuperating at a private hospital. AH and KA-FU intend to sneak AUNTIE GAN out. Although GEROGE strongly opposes to their idea, he does not tell CHIK their plan. AH manages to sneak AUNTIE GAN out. SZ-FU is not happy that TAK has been hiding AUNTIE GAN from her. On the other hand however, she takes AUNTIE GAN to a public hospital. AUNTIE GAN has woken up. She tells GAN to tell the truth when she visits him.

SZ-FU looks exhausted. SUM, who shares an apartment with her, can tell right away that she is worried about her case. AH pays a visit to PING’s grave with AUNTIE GAN. SANG is already there. AH glimpses MR. MA as he leaves. MR. MA reminds her wife not to reveal her “true self” when he calls on her at the detention center. According to SZ-FU’s private investigator, TAK’s helpers are all afraid of her. SZ-FU and TAK’s assistant, LEE PUI-KWAN, visit TAK together. SZ-FU unveils KWAN’s long kept secret before TAK. MR. MA appears suddenly as SZ-FU and SUM are having breakfast. He drops a hint about how to handle TAK’s case. SZ-FU and SUM have a long talk with KWAN, after which she agrees to testify in court.

SZ-FU’s counterparts are teasing at her as she enters the club. She walks straight to the VIP floor. A waiter wants to stop her, but he gives in as she produces her newly acquired VIP membership card. KEI would like to meet AH. SZ-FU runs errands for him. Their meeting turns out to be an unpleasant one. GEORGE and KA-FU hand out free lunch boxes to street sleepers and other people in need on behalf of Civil Legal Center. TAI NG-TING, who is unemployed, is one of the recipients. TING asks KING if she could give her a job. SZ-FU reminds her mother to be vigilant. GEORGE and SZ-FU see TING outside the court at the same time. She is accused of robbing her former employer. GEORGE volunteers to represent her. TING TOOK-YUEN, a wealthy business in town, goes to the Civil Legal Center to make a donation to KA-FU, who is his son. He files into a fury when he learns that KA-FU is assisting TING’s lawsuit against him.

Still mad at his father, KA-FU drives in top speed to vent his anger. CHIT tells AH and the others why the father and son are at odds with each other. GEORGE asks AH to appear in court for him. AH turns down his request. GEORGE makes many mistakes in court. TING has been on the phone the whole day, telling his husband to take care of their children and his mother when she is in jail. The hearing if heard today. AH calls KA-FU, his witness, to give evidence of how badly YUEN treat his employees. TING is found not guilty. YUEN hits KA-FU as he is leaving the court. His wife, WING-CHAU, has a sharp pain in the chest. With a view to patching up with his father, KA-FU makes him some red peach cakes. To his disappointment, his effort proves futile.

The Civil Legal Centre arranges free shower and haircut for street sleepers. KA-FU and his staff are taking care of the street sleepers when a dirty-looking female street sleeper shows up. KA-FU advises her to take a shower, too, but she turns around immediately. Suspecting that she has mental problem, KA-FU and his colleagues chase after her. TING manages to clam her down. Everybody praises her for her wit. GEORGE even decides to employ her. SZ-FU runs into her school friend HO LEI-CHING. CHING and other sex workers have been arrested. She calls SZ-FU to go to a police station. SZ-FU keeps a distance from CHING after learning that her old friend is a sex worker. CHING and her friend FUNG have a fight with their mainland counterparts on the street. Police Officer FAI searches her. CHING wants to fire a complaint about FAI, but SZ-FU refuses to act as her witness. AH appears.

In fact, CHING and AH know each other. She invites him to her place. He understands she is still fighting for her dream. CHIT and FAI find out about the truth at last as they are patrolling the streets. SZ-FU meets up with CHING. She knows for the first time about her miserable past. CHING goes to a park to try to make peace with other sex workers. It happens that FAI is running after a thief. CHING joins him in the chase. SZ-FU and CHING have a drink and a talk on the seafront. SZ-FU asks CHING about AH. According to CHING, once when AH was tipsy he told him he had killed someone. Car mechanic KO WING-LEUNG calls AH, telling him he is accused of killing his younger sister, YAM YUEN-YUEN. GEORGE is busy with other business, so AH invites TING to act as a law clerk. YAM HO-TIN, LEUNG’s stepfather, has employed SZ-FU to be LEUNG’s defending lawyer. AH and SZ-FU have a dispute over how to defend for LEUNG.

GEORGE and KA-FU do not know much about LEUNG’s family background. AH tells TING to give them a picture. LEUNG and his mother WONG MEI-FUN have lived in Shum Shui Po for many years. YUEN-YUEN was the daughter of TIM and his former wife. In other words, LEUNG and YUEN-YUEN have no blood relation. GEORGE gives TING a lift home. He explains to her in the car the legal jargons she has come across. The prosecuting lawyer makes an application to produce fresh evidence. In his words, LEUNG had a crush on YUEN-YUEN. Love turned into hatred when he was turned down, and he killed her. SZ-FU wants to bet with AH again. He agrees unwittingly. KA-FU is enjoying his meal all by his lonesome when CHING appears. She encourages him to reconcile with his father. Some one pours chili oil on CHING when she is going home.

TING meets up with YUEN-YUEN’s boyfriend CHOW KA-HO in order to find out about the truth of her death. AH and SZ-FU tell FUN what they have found. Leaving with no choice, FUN tells them what happened in the evening when YUEN-YUEN died. KA-FU asks CHIT to protect CHING. His girlfriend, SUSAN, is jealous to see them together. CHIT therefore tells CHING to go home on her own. Someone waits for her to come home and tosses acid on her. KA-FU dashes out to save her just in time, but his back is attacked. CHAU and YUEN are calling on KA-FU. As soon as he sees CHING, however, he passes her a packet of burn ointment then leaves. AH is unable to prove YUEN-YUEN’s death is an accident. SZ-FU has managed to persuade HO into acting as a witness. AH does not agree with how she plans to help LEUNG get away. In order to talk her into giving up her plan, he tells her how he was forced to leave the profession seven years ago.

SZ-FU discusses her case with her family members. Her mother’s words enlighten her. AH, SZ-FU and TING look for evidence at TIN’s house again. TING discovers some broken pieces of glass on an oil painting. SZ-FU tells TIN they have only a slim chance of winning. He finally agrees to testify for his stepson. TING and others throw a celebration party at the center for AH and SZ-FU. Excited, AH spreads cream on SZ-FU’s face. GEORGE is surprised to see AH ironing a shirt. It turns out he is having dinner with SZ-FU. GEORGE goes to TING’s place for dinner, telling her AH and SZ-FU are engaged in another appointment. SZ-FU shows up in casual clothes, not expecting that AH will take her to an expensive restaurant. KA-FU gives CHING a lift home after movies, totally unaware that they will get involved in a gangster fight.

CHING has fallen in love with KA-FU but she does not want to go any further with him. SZ-FU would like to help her, but then there is nothing she can do. KA-FU and TING visit an old lady called AUNTIE YIM. The police call and say that her granddaughter, MIU YEUK-LAI, has committed suicide. AUNTIE YIM refuses to believe it, claiming LAI would never kill herself. KA-FU discusses LAI’s case with AH in the evening. AUNTIE YIM calls and tells him LAI had once mentioned that her landlord was a retired high-ranking official. GEORGE is astonished to discover that LAI’s landlord is retired high court judge GEORGE MIKE, i.e. his father. Dressed in mourning for LAI, KA-FU protests at GEORGE MIKE’s door. Retired solicitor DELAN MA and SZ-FU, who is his pupil, call on GEORGE MIKE. With the assistance of SZ-FU, GEORGE MIKE manages to leave his house. YUEN is celebrating his 60th birthday……

YUEN slaps YUEN on the face in anger. As if this is not enough, GEORGE gives him a severe beating when he is home. SZ-FU suspects GEORGE MIKE is hiding something about LAI’s death. She tells AH what she thinks. AH wants to gather more evidence at GEORGE MIKE’s house. He hopes GEORGE would do him a favor. On the other hand, SZ-FU goes to GEORGE MIKE’s house with the excuse to get him some clean clothes. AH shows GEORGE some fresh evidence, adding that GEORGE MIKE and LAI may have been lovers. GEORGE tells his father he has written to the Department of Justice to call for a hearing on LAI’s death. After testifying in court, GEORGE MIKE apologizes to AUNTIE YIM. AH points out in his turn that it is very likely that LAI was murdered.

AH adds that LAI’s death is full of suspicious points. YEUNG KWOK-KUI, LAI’s husband, is leaving the court when police officers from Serious Crime Unit show up and invite him to the police station. KEI is KUI’s representing lawyer. With the help of KUI’s maid, CHIT and his team find a piece of important evidence at his place. The Department of Justice invites SZ-FU to be the prosecuting lawyer of LAI’s case. KUI is brought to court. KEI makes it hard for SZ-FU. In order to seek AH’s help, SZ-FU tries her best to please him. CHING slips in the rain as she is trying to keep a distance from KA-FU. KA-FU carries her home on his back. She tells him how she was hurt in her previous relationship. AH and SZ-FU visit AUNTIE YIM. LAI’s son tells them how his father had beaten his mother. Meanwhile, KEI shows up out of the blue, claiming LAI’s son will act as a prosecuting witness.

GEORGE is working overtime. TING offers to cook him something before she goes home. GEORGE mistakenly believes she has a crush on him. SZ-FU and AH have invited KUI’s neighbor, PO, to serve as a witness in court. KEI concludes that PO’s testimony is unreliable. KUI confesses having sneaked into LAI’s home on the day before she died, rather than on the day the tragedy happened. SZ-FU and AH go to LAI’s place to gather information. They notice some paints on the roof. With a view to proving KUI’s words, they decide to find out who spilled the paint. KEI invites MR. YIP, who is an unlicensed doctor, to testify for KUI. KEI’s concluding statement is nearly perfect. Not unexpectedly, the jury returns a verdict of manslaughter.

KUI has been found guilty of manslaughter but not murder. AH cheers SZ-FU up, taking their relationship a big step further. A sex worker working at the same building as CHING has been robbed by a customer. KA-FU hopes that she would quit but she will not listen. Someone invites AH to join his law firm in Central, the central business district of Hong Kong as well as where he used to work. SZ-FU and other friends encourage him to take the offer. HA gives it some thoughts, and makes up his mind to accept the invitation. CHING is meeting up with KA-FU. When she is about to leave her flat, she notices something wrong with FUNG’s room. It turns out FUNG has been robbed and hit to a faint by her customer. The man orders CHING to take off her clothes. Covering her body in a towel, CHING runs after him. YUEN and CHAU are shocked to see CHING, who is half naked. Later, handing her a check, the couples requests CHING to leave KA-FU……

TING and GEORGE save MRS. CHEUNG and take her to the Civic Legal Center. TING tells MRS. CHEUNG her past so as to cheer her up. GEORGE gives TING a ride home. Her husband, LEUNG FUNG, calls. She then tells GEORGE in tears what has happened. TING has fallen asleep when they get to where she lives. He kisses her. FUNG happens to be around. He takes a photo of scene on the sly. TING has a fierce argument with FUNG when she is home. She is later accused of injuring FUNG with a kitchen knife. FUNG blackmails GEORGE with the photo and then gives beats him up. The prosecutor presents the photo of GEORGE kissing TING in court. TING is taken aback. Everybody is surprised by GEORGE’s eloquent delivery as he confesses his secret admiration for TING. On the other hand, AH visits TSUI KIU.

TING has been found not guilty. She thanks GEORGE for his help. AH takes KIU and TING’s children to see her. CHIT has been recently dumped by SUSAN. CHING goes to dim sum with him. WONG CHI-KIN and his friends demand that HO TAI-KEUNG and his friends, who came earlier, to give up their seats. The two parties are soon ready to fight. CHIT stops them. KEUNG is waiting for his friends in a car park when he sees KIN on his own. They have a fight. KIN is found breathless when the security guard and the police arrive. LAW PING-HEI has hired AH and SZ-FU as his representing lawyers. Like HEI, the other three customers also come from wealthy families, and they have hired KEI and his pupils to represent them. KEI would like to work with SZ-FU, proposing to shift all the blame on to KEUNG.

Coincidentally, AH, GEORGE, KA-FU and CHIT have all recently broken up with their girlfriends. They chill out at AH’s place. SZ-FU cannot be more astonished the next day when HEI’s parents tell them they do not need her anymore. CHING is opening up a French restaurant. A wine cellar agrees to let part of his shop area to her. CHING discusses the contract details with the wine cellar owner. CHING has worked out how to design her restaurant. CHIT takes photographs of her design plan so that he can show KA-FU. Encouraged by TING, KA-FU asks for the permission of his parents for going out with CHING again. CHING is measuring her restaurant. She sees KEI talking to a man, acting rather stealthily. She takes a photograph of them then leaves. She calls KA-FU as soon as she returns to the street. KA-FU finds it odd that their conversation breaks down suddenly……

CHING’s case is heard today. AH tries his best to prove that KEI is responsible for CHING’s death but KEI makes things very difficult for him. AH takes out a photograph of HO YAU-FOOK, father of KEUNG. Back to the detention center, KEI gives HIM and SZ-FU a good telling-off. HIM tells SZ-FU why KEI cares so much about his stick as they leave. SZ-FU goes to KEI’s place to take some clothes for him. She grasps the opportunity to find out more about the case. After overhearing SZ-FU’s phone conversation with HIM, AH goes to where CHING was found seriously injured to look for clues. The trial continues. The judge calls for a recess, as AH has presented some fresh evidence. SZ-FU believes AH is using the fresh evidence to frame up KEI, resulting in the judge’s decision to depose AH as prosecuting lawyer. KEI is very satisfied with SZ-FU’s performance. He gives her a hint about the hiding place of the real evidence……

Barrister LAW LIK-AH was put in jail for obstruction of justice. On his day of release, his good friends TING KA-FU and GEORGE MIKE JR. wait for him outside the prison but they cannot see him after a long time. LIK-AH’s girlfriend WONG SZ-FU is not able to pick him up for she needs to fight for the poor in the court. SZ-FU rushes to LIK-AH’s home after work and they kiss each other passionately in front of everybody. LIK-AH carries SZ-FU to his room but they discover LEUNG PAU-SING sleeping inside. SZ-FU and Auntie KING find a group of neighbors queuing up for Uncle YEUNG’s egg puffs on the street. SZ-FU asks everybody to look for her if they have any legal problems. SZ-FU, KA-FU and GEORGE find LIK-AH doing nothing all day. They question LIK-AH if he still wants to be a barrister. LIK-AH reveals that it is very difficult to get his license back and he prefers to be a legal advisor instead……

In order to help Uncle KOO, LIK-AH returns to the High Court again and other barristers humiliate him. CHIN-SHEUNG invites CHUN-NEI to be his defense counsel and CHUN-NEI predominates over SZ-FU with her eloquent speech. CHUN-NEI even requests SZ-FU’s side to make compensation to CHIN-SHEUNG for he has become impotent after the injury. LIK-AH forgets that he is no longer a barrister and he tries to speak for Uncle KOO but the judge warns him to stop angrily. LIK-AH is very upset and he decides to resume his license. LIK-AH goes to the kennel of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department to visit CHIN-SHEUNG’s wolf dog. LIK-AH and KA-FU persuade CHIN-SHEUNG’s gardener to be their witness. Based on their conversation with the gardener, LIK-AH believes that CHIN-SHEUNG has given special training to the wolf dog before……

CHIN-SHEUNG cries in the court while telling everybody that his wife wants to divorce him because of his impotency. LIK-AH and KA-FU follow him secretly. They discover CHIN-SHEUNG chatting up an attractive masseuse SUM-SUM on the street. LIK-AH tries to check out the background of SUM-SUM from FUNG and the other prostitutes for he wants SUM-SUM to help proving that CHIN-SHEUNG was telling lies. Uncle KOO’s case is finally over and KA-FU invites LIK-AH to watch football match at home. LIK-AH tries to ask for permission from SZ-FU. KA-FU and the others tease him and they think that LIK-AH is not as important as her work in SZ-FU’s mind. With SZ-FU’s help, LING-LEI opens the clinic eventually. SZ-FU asks LING-LEI to help giving body check to prostitutes in the district and LING-LEI agrees immediately. KA-FU encourages SUM-SUM to do the body check and SUM-SUM slaps him on his face……

GEORGE will become a Deputy Judge soon and he tidies up his clothes in his room. LIK-AH and the others play tricks on him. While working as a Deputy Judge, GEORGE meets CHUN-NEI and he is scared away by her imposing manner. LING-LEI and SZ-FU chats in the sidewalk snack booth and the girl SIU-LAI suddenly collapses in front of them. SZ-FU and LING-LEI accompany SIU-LAI home. After a shower, SIU-LAI suddenly vomits and she is sent to the hospital. The doctor says that SIU-LAI is suffering from acute liver failure and SIU-LAI’s mother LAN is very worried. Based on the laboratory report, the cause of SIU-LAI’s illness is the cold medicines that she has been taking because it contains large amounts of mildew. LIK-AH says that they should ask for compensation from the drug factory. CEO of the drug factory CHING-HUNG visits SIU-LAI secretly. When he returns to his car, he stops his wife from giving the drug factory’s medicine to his son……

SZ-FU and LIK-AH quarrel with each other on the case. LING-LEI consoles her and she reveals that she is not living with her husband. The drug factory refuses to increase the compensation to SIU-LAI and LIK-AH finally agrees with SZ-FU to put the case to the court. The drug factory appoints the famous barrister SHING-WONG to be their defense counsel. SHING-WONG hates LIK-AH very much but LIK-AH doesn’t really care. SHING-WONG discovers that his daughter LING-LEI is opening a medical clinic in Sham Shui Po and he goes to visit her angrily. LIK-AH and SZ-FU act intimately on the street. LING-LEI witnesses the scene accidentally and she is devastated. She drives madly and is injured in a car accident. SHING-WONG rushes to the hospital and he requests LIK-AH to talk with him outside the hospital. SHING-WONG reveals all the hardships that LING-LEI has encountered in the past to LIK-AH.

Ten years ago, LIK-AH was fighting against SHING-WONG in a lawsuit. SHING-WONG lured LIK-AH to standby his side with benefits but LIK-AH rejected him. LING-LEI admired LIK-AH's character and they soon became lovers. LIK-AH finally realizes all the hardships that LING-LEI had gone through and he apologizes to her in the hospital. LIK-AH reveals that he now loves SZ-FU and LING-LEI decides to let go. Before the hearing, LIK-AH and SZ-FU discover that CHING-HUNG and his wife have become the witnesses of SHING-WONG's side. SZ-FU performs brilliantly during the hearing and CHING-HUNG finally discloses the truth to everybody. The drug factory loses the lawsuit and will make compensation to all the victims. While KA-FU is helping the victims, BOR-HIM tries to date SZ-FU and LIK-AH overhears the conversation. LIK-AH immediately reveals to everybody that he is SZ-FU's boyfriend.

PAU-SING deliberately dresses up to date KO-NGA but they end up having street snacks together with GEORGE in Sham Shui Po. LING-LEI moves to her new home eventually. She is very sad to find LIK-AH and SZ-FU acting intimately in front of everybody but she pretends to be happy. In the early morning, LING-LEI tries to fix the antenna at the rooftop and she falls down accidentally. LIK-AH and the others try very hard to rescue her. CHUN-NEI discovers that her husband SHAN is committing adultery. She wants a divorce and she asks SZ-FU to be her lawyer for the lawsuit. KA-FU discovers that SUM-SUM is very greedy and he believes that she is providing special services to her clients in order to earn more. KA-FU discovers that SUM-SUM is discussing about venereal disease with the prostitute FUNG. Shop King CHEUNG invites SUM-SUM for tea and SUM-SUM asks him to go to her home eagerly...

Shop King CHEUNG complains to the police that SUM-SUM has attacked him. KA-FU becomes the witness of the case and PAU-SING believes that SUM-SUM is providing sexual services at her home based on KA-FU's statement. SUM-SUM is very angry about it and she blames PAU-SING and KA-FU for discriminating her. KA-FU finally decides not to sign his statement temporarily. SHAN meets CHUN-NEI with LIK-AH. He reveals that he is suffering from leukemia and CHUN-NEI is both shocked and heart-broken. SHAN wants to use their son's umbilical cord blood to cure his disease but CHUN-NEI rejects him. Failing to mediate between CHUN-NEI and SHAN, SZ-FU and LIK-AH have to fight against each other on court. KA-FU discovers that FUNG is now doing foot massage instead of prostitution and he learns from FUNG that he has misunderstood SUM-SUM. KA-FU still misses CHING-CHING and he goes to her grave with red wine……

In order to settle the case of Shop King CHEUNG and SUM-SUM, LIK-AH visits Shop King CHEUNG in the pub. LIK-AH and the other capture Shop King CHEUNG to their Civil Legal Center to question him. They also suggest SUM-SUM to punish him for his misbehavior. LIK-AH learns that CHUN-NEI has got her difficulties and he meets up with SHAN to give him some fake information. LING-LEI reveals to the clinic nurse BEAUTY that she still loves with LIK-AH and BEAUTY encourages her to fight for it. Widely regarded as "Prince of Heart Protective Oil", rich second generation WONG TSOK-MAN visits LING-LEI at her clinic with flowers and fruit basket. Some corrosive liquids are thrown down outside the clinic. LING-LEI helps the patients selflessly and TSOK-MAN admires her kind-heartedness very much. The former grand justice WILLIAM was sued for taking Comprehensive Social Security Assistance by cheating and GEORGE is assigned to take up the case……

GEORGE is very stressed about WILLIAM’s case. KO-NGA tries to encourage him and he finds her suggestions very useful. SUM-SUM’s ex-colleague WING calls her for help and SUM-SUM rescues her from danger. WING reveals to SUM-SUM that the drug dealer forces her to help smuggling drugs for she is pregnant. SZ-FU’s younger brother SZ-YUEN discovers SUM-SUM and WING on the street. He wants to visit WING but SUM-SUM says that she did not see her. The drug dealer forces WING to swallow a few packs of drugs and KA-FU immediately brings her to LING-LEI’s clinic. PAU-SING learns that somebody has smuggled drugs and he rushes to the clinic as well. KA-FU tells SZ-FU and the others about WING’s case. SZ-YUEN recalls the memory of separating with WING reluctantly in the past. SZ-FU becomes WING’s defense counsel and she persuades her to surrender herself to the police.

In order to gather more evidence to support WING, SZ-FU takes risk to accompany WING to meet up with her boyfriend WAI. LIK-AH learns that SZ-FU is injured and he scolds her angrily. SZ-FU discovers that LIK-AH really cares about her and she feels sweet. While speaking for WING in the court, the prosecutor reveals that WING was involved in drug smuggling before. SZ-FU realizes that WING hasn’t told her everything and she believes that she will lose the lawsuit. LIK-AH helps to solve LING-LEI’s problem and they go to drink beer together. LING-LEI is drunk and she kisses LIK-AH. SZ-FU witnesses the scene accidentally. LIK-AH asks KA-FU and the others to help explaining the case to SZ-FU. LIK-AH and SUM-SUM go to the detention center to visit WING. SUM-SUM believes that WING wants to repent and start anew so she asks WING’s mother to visit her. On the other hand, KA-FU visits WING’s father coincidentally.

SUM-SUM and KA-FU successfully encourage WING’s parents to visit her. Afterwards, they met each other accidentally in the restaurant. After drinking, KA-FU starts to feel that SUM-SUM and CHING-CHING are quite alike. SZ-FU and LIK-AH go to the detention center to visit WAI. They persuade WAI to become a tainted witness. However, when WAI discovers that the gang leader is present at the hearing, he is scared away and refuses to help. WING is tired of everything and she decides to end it all by admitting her guilt. LIK-AH and the others respect her decision but SZ-FU is very upset and she doesn’t want to be WING’s lawyer anymore. Everybody believes that WING will lose the lawsuit but PAU-SING suddenly has a good news. PAU-SING and GEORGE try to please KO-NGA in every ways. KO-NGA hurts her ankle accidentally and PAU-SING immediately requests to carry her on his back……

LIK-AH and SZ-FU meet TSOK-MAN and LING-LEI in the restaurant. LIK-AH is pleased that LING-LEI has a pursuer. SUM-SUM learns that LI-KIN has pressed the alarm of Lifeline for LI-KIN has collapsed after inhaling some smokes from the neighborhood. KA-FU asks PAU-SING to investigate that neighborhood together and they discover a private nunnery with many urns. The group carries out a discussion and LI-KIN reveals that the nunnery’s owner is a rich second who has good relationship with the building’s owner. SZ-FU and LIK-AH discover that the building’s owner is TSOK-MAN and TSOK-MAN reveals that the tenant is the tycoon TAI CHIU-LUNG’s son TAI CHI-TSIN. LIK-AH and SZ-FU carry out investigation on them. They discover that CHIU-LUNG is a cruel person with a kind mask. CHIU-LUNG learns that KA-FU and the others are persuading LI-KIN to be the witness. He immediately asks his subordinates to capture LI-KIN on street.

KA-FU and SUM-SUM finally find LI-KIN but LI-KIN is too scared to be the witness anymore. LIK-AH and KA-FU try to follow CHI-TSIN with eavesdropping device. They discover that CHI-TSIN is asking the private detectives to find his girlfriend KAM and they follow him all the way to KAM’s home. LIK-AH discusses his findings with SZ-FU and he believes that CHIU-LUNG is manipulating his son. LIK-AH reveals CHIU-LUNG’s cruel behaviors to CHI-TSIN and he hopes that CHI-TSIN will stop following his father all the time. LIK-AH invites CHI-TSIN for a bet. If CHI-TSIN could stay in SUM-SUM’s home for 3 days, he will stop making complaints to the nunnery. Even though it is really hard, CHI-TSIN successfully stays for a day and SZ-FU worries that he will win but LIK-AH is very confident about his plan. On the 2nd day, CHI-TSIN asks his driver to buy a gas mask for him…

YIN-SAU is accused for getting Comprehensive Social Security Assistance by cheating and KO-NGA becomes her defense counsel. GEORGE is the judge of the case and he visits YIN-SAU to learn more about her situation. GEORGE overcomes his psychological constraints and gives a fair judgment without any bias. He is overjoyed and he hugs KO-NGA happily. WING-KEUNG complains that PAU-SING has bitten him. PAU-SING discusses the case with FAI during breakfast and WING-KEUNG overhears it. GEORGE discovers that PAU-SING has stolen his thank you card to please KO-NGA and he starts a quarrel with him angrily. FAI discovers a dying drug addict at the staircases of an old building. He believes that WING-KEUNG is involved in the case so he chases him and PAU-SING follows them. FAI and WING-KEUNG fight with each other at the hillside. In order to save FAI, PAU-SING shots WING-KEUNG with his gun……

PAU-SING reveals the truth about WING-KEUNG’s death to SZ-FU and LIK-AH. Both of them are shocked to learn that the tree’s branch has killed WING-KEUNG. LIK-AH believes in PAU-SING and he continues to be his lawyer. On the other hand, SZ-FU wants to fight for WING-KEUNG and she forces the police to provide PAU-SING and FAI’s case report in the court. All the neighbors feel sorry for HAN and they isolate LIK-AH. LING-LEI supports LIK-AH wholeheartedly and she kisses him again. SZ-FU witnesses the scene accidentally. SZ-FU wants to separate with LIK-AH until LIK-AH has a clear conclusion on his relationship with LING-LEI. TSOK-MAN invites LING-LEI and SHING-WONG for dinner. TSOK-MAN expressed to SHING-WONG that he wants to develop a relationship with LING-LEI and SHING-WONG supports him. LIK-AH learns that LING-LEI tries to keep a distance from TSOK-MAN and he worries that LING-LEI will declare her love to him.

After thinking through the case, LIK-AH still cannot figure out why HO WING-KEUNG wants to kill FAI. KO-NGA recalls that WING-KEUNG had taken her into the alley by force and she describes the scene in details to LIK-AH. LIK-AH believes that PAU-SING didn’t tell everybody that FAI has bitten WING-KEUNG for he wants to protect his friend. PAU-SING goes out with his beloved dog ROCKY but ROCKY is missing accidentally. GEORGE helps him to find ROCKY and they reconcile with each other. LIK-AH has got all he needs except the tree’s branch that FAI used to attack WING-KEUNG. He asks ROCKY to help finding it at the hillside. PAU-SING is released eventually. KA-FU and GEORGE are dissatisfied that SZ-FU has attacked LIK-AH heartlessly during the hearing. They scold her and SZ-FU takes it all silently. BOR-HIM finds SZ-FU drinking alone in the pub……

After being challenged by LING-LEI in front of everybody, SZ-FU makes a cake for LIK-AH but she discovers that LIK-AH is sharing an egg tart with LING-LEI. On the other hand, LIK-AH goes to a flower shop to buy flowers for SZ-FU and GEORGE teaches him to read a love poem to her. HAN reveals to KA-FU tearfully that her husband is sentenced to death in China and she is not able to visit him in jail at all. KA-FU asks SZ-FU and the others for help. The Chief Executive’s assistant finally accepts KA-FU’s petition. After getting the approval letter, KA-FU, SUM-SUM and HAN go to the prison in China together. During the time, FOOK-YUEN suddenly calls KA-FU and tells him that WING-TSAU has been sent to a hospital because of heart disease. KA-FU rushes back immediately but he is shocked to learn from the doctor that WING-TSAU has died already. FOOK-YUEN is very angry for KA-FU didn’t show up on time and he doesn’t allow KA-FU to return home.

KA-FU is very ashamed after his mother’s death. He stays at CHING-CHING’s grave and drinks continuously. SUM-SUM cannot bear to scold KA-FU angrily and KA-FU bursts into tears. With the help of SUM-SUM, KA-FU finally reunites with FOOK-YUEN. SZ-FU is injured at home accidentally. LIK-AH believes that it is a small injury and he asks SZ-FU to handle it on her own. An old building is on fire because of short circuit. FUNG and WING’s mother FAN believe that this was done by the property owner Chiu Lung Group for they failed to acquire the ownership of the building from tenants successfully. WING’s baby is one month old and all neighbours go to her home to take pork knuckles and ginger stew for celebration. The building suddenly shakes and everybody run away nervously. FAN is trapped by a big cabinet and SUM-SUM finds FUNG falling with the sinking floor…

SZ-FU and LIK-AH witness the collapse of the old building. KA-FU and LIK-AH rush to rescue the people. With the help of firemen, SIU-KING and SUM-SUM come out eventually. Later, the firemen discover FAN and FUNG’s dead bodies and everybody are devastated. KA-FU accompanies SUM-SUM all the time after her injury and he finally admit that he loves SUM-SUM. SIU-KING becomes paralyzed after the injury. During the hearing at the Coroner's Court, LIK-AH and SZ-FU express that Chiu Lung Group should be responsible for the accident. However, the sub-contractor WING is telling lies in the court and CHIU-LUNG is released eventually. LIK-AH sends FUNG’s bone ash back to her home town and he tries to find WING’s whereabouts. LING-LEI overhears SHING-WONG and CHIU-LUNG’s conversation. She realizes that LIK-AH and WING are in danger. In order to rescue LIK-AH, LING-LEI is injured and she loses her consciousness.

SZ-FU and LIK-AH discover that SIU-KING is missing but they have no clue of her whereabouts. They suddenly discover SIU-KING gliding down a steep slope dangerously in her wheelchair. CHI-TSIN shows LIK-AH a video of CHIU-LUNG and YUNG’s conversation. He wants LIK-AH to persuade CHIU-LUNG to surrender himself to the police. LIK-AH decides to act as the bait but SZ-FU stops him by giving him sleeping pills. After watching the video, CHIU-LUNG is enraged and he threatens SZ-FU to reveal the whereabouts of CHI-TSIN by pressing her throat with force. LIK-AH arrives on time to rescue SZ-FU. When PAU-SING and the other police arrive, CHIU-LUNG has died already. LIK-AH has collapsed while SZ-FU is holding a golf club speechlessly. She admits that she has killed CHIU-LUNG in the chaos. LIK-AH becomes the witness of the case but he suddenly reveals to everybody in court that he is the murderer. Both SZ-FU and LIK-AH try to take the guilt……
