With the New Year just begun, who will start 2011 in style? There are highlights from the day's two Premier League matches, with the feature being Chelsea's match with Aston Villa. The goals have dried up for Carlo Ancelotti's side after their blistering beginning to the season, but they will be desperate to get the New Year off to a good start as they bid to retain their Premier League title. The day's other game sees Wigan host Newcastle. The Geordies have a dismal record in away matches with the Latics and have lost all four of their Premier League matches at the DW Stadium. The day's other game sees title hopefuls Chelsea make the short trip across west London to face relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers.
