It’s a single season, you can see the episode guide in https://www.bcdb.com/cartoons/Other_Studios/B/BRB_Internacional/David_El_Gnomo/ They did a sequel called La llamada de los gnomos (Wisdom Of The Gnomes) in 1987

"David, el gnomo" consists of a single season of 26 episodes, broadcast for the very first time on TVE (Spain) on October 26, 1985 and finalized on April 19, 1986.
As a proof, I provide official newspaper archives, specifically page 118 of the Spanish newspaper "ABC" from April 18, 1986, where it is clearly indicated that at 3:35 pm TVE issued the last chapter : "Las montañas del más allá" (The Mountains of Beyond) which corresponds to chapter 26 of its unique season:

Apart from my own experience as a child in those days, another proof is "La llamada de los gnomos" (The Wisdom of the Gnomes), a sequel released in 1987 that couldn't have come before "David, el gnomo" did finalize.

I've just added the 13 episodes of the Season 2 to the Season 1, in English and Spanish with the original air dates in Spain. The Season 2 is still locked, so I couldn't delete it (It is the only thing left to do, can you do it, please?).
Perhaps, it would be good to create an episode group for the 1988 North-American release in 2 seasons, just in case anyone report another "incorrect" data.
