Discuss Star Trek

Ruk? Yes. Andrea? No. For one minute it looked like highly beautiful and treasured performer Sherry Jackson was guest starring on 'The Addams Family' alongside Ted Cassidy, of course, playing Lurch. You might think that when Miss. Jackson guested on ST:TOS she got Cassidy his guest starring role. She had good clout at Desilu from her stint on'Make room for Daddy'. But actually-- no!! It is not Jackson on 'The Addams Family' but lookalike Penny Parker (who took over from Jackson on MRFD). The connection could still almost be. Parker, with her very own clout from Desilu, could have gotten Cassidy his guest role on Trek.

The premise of WALGMO was that brain wave transfer of memories was occurring between human and robot. That idea went over too many viewers' heads. Fortunately Sherry Jackson's image did not!

I still think that's a bad premise though. Even if you copy someone's memories into a computer, it's still a computer. It's not the PERSON, somehow "in there."

Here is a valid point to explain, Knixon. The transference of brain waves enough so that a robot has your memories could perfectly be. But the robot still wouldn't consciously be you. Your spiritual conscious would still be in your original body.As your God-given soul is different somehow than your body and even brainwaves.

In this show there were different robots. Beautiful Sherry Jackson was a simple robot with no brainwaves from any particular human. Brown the robot seemingly had a few human brainwaves but not anywhere near the actual conscious of the real Brown that Chapel knew years ago. Korby the droid had more human brainwaves than any other robot he made but not the soul of the human Korby. The Kirk android ( as it was called by Trekkies) was just like Brown's robot probably though perhaps a few more brainwaves as he acted more human than the Brown robot. Ruk was unknown in built origin all known of him was just that he was a robot created by the old ones on the planet ( whatever they were).
