I like that they didn't kill Bonnie, that was a relief. They did try to have some sort of resolution for each of the characters. The Klaus letter was a nice touch. I'm not sure I want Caroline on TO though. The whole Katherine storyline seemed a bit rushed to me.
The close up shot of Damon and Elana's hands at the end would have had more of an impact if they had shown an old couple's hands. Her monologue about this long life together, but they look exactly the same, lol. I mean, I'm glad they didn't do old age makeup on them, but just having an old couple's hands would have been sweet I think.

I was kinda heartbroken that Stefan died..and i was also thinking about caroline how she will live on and everyone around her will die..including her own children..at some point its gotta hit her that she will never be reunited with them..i was thinking that once she's lived long enough she would just take her own life just to be reunited with everyone she loves. I just don't think this was particular a happy ending..then again JP said in the pre finale that her idea of a happy ending isn't happy for everyone. And why didn't they show Matt Alaric bonnie and Jeremy in the afterlife once they died? Damon and Elena died of old age..wouldn't they have too? Ya i agree this should have been a 2 hour finale.

IMO the show lost its magic after season 5 but I kept watching until this season, gave up after 2 episodes. It was just so boring and nothing like it used to be. I did watch the final episode to see how it wraps up and what happens to the characters I used to love. Have to say I'm disappointed, I kinda hoped for an epic finale for what used to be an epic show but instead it just felt silly and rushed. Still it was great to see Bonnie made it and packing her stuff like "I'm outta here and off to live my life, I'm done saving yo asses" lol

What happened to Enzo? Who does Katherine hang out with in Heaven? Her original family back in Bulgaria? What about Jeremy's old fling Anna Zhu?

Given they had advance notice that this was their last season, I feel they could have taken more time to tie things up. It really felt rushed and not thought out at all.

storyline was it was okay character wise, Damon bored me for at least 3 seasons, his "bad guy" was so always the same, he didn't make any effort to be better for Elena so having her grow old with such a hateful character is sad Karoline deserved better, raising 2 kids she didn't give birth to, and having the love of her life ripped from her is terrible I don't care at all what happens to Bonnie goodie 2 shoes Jiminy Cricket, such a terrible character, should have been in Little house in the prairie or 7 heaven, Enzo was so terribly developed (not bad enough as a bad guy, not good enough as a good guy, not believable as a lover ...) It was soo good to see Nina Dobrev, she was the soul of the series, having Katherine back was so good, but being killed so stupidly wasn't, I think she was the most intelligent character in the show. Interesting to read that, as hell was annihilated there's a possibility she was sent to heaven, and Stefan too, they were great together.
