Producer Renato Milva announces he is opening auditions to create a new musical theater group. Several young artists sign up in hopes of fulfilling their lifelong dream: being recognized and being able to make a living out of their passion.

The 15 days of audition workshops begin. As everyone dreams of moving on to the next stage, Sandra faces trouble with her jealous boyfriend, Emídio, Leandro deals with his alcoholic father, and Jorge asks for the blessing of his mother, who is in a coma. Mauricio sends a sexy photo to Artur, and Nora tells her lover, who is married, that she is pregnant. Marita implies that Mauricio and Antonia will cause trouble.

The auditions take place amidst stage fright and incorrect evaluations. Jorge gets a call from the hospital which breaks his concentration, but this brings him closer to Sandra. Alicia and Leandro are in love. Reginaldo is scared to be on stage, and his mother sings with him. Later, Nora feels sick and Renato helps her.

Relationships within the group are becoming intense. Leandro walks Alicia home and they kiss. Emídio is jealous and sets a trap for Sandra. Fernando and Sissy get closer and Artur tries to explain the situation with Mauricio. Renato tries to apologize to Antonia, but he ends up being seduced by Nora.

A new stage of audition candidate eliminations is coming up and the competition becomes more intense. Nora pretends to be friends with Marita to carry her plans forward, and she also badmouths Sandra, who discovers it. Emídio runs into Jorge and recognizes him. Later, Jorge confesses his love for Sandra to his mother and aunt, but they do not approve.

Nora won't stop harassing Renato. She lies to her mother by telling her that she is in love with him. Alicia gets ready to meet João, Leandro's father, but finds Freddy, who came straight from Argentina, waiting for her. Sandra sees Emídio hanging around her house after attacking Jorge. Mauricio and Artur keep going out, and Fernando nurses his broken heart.

Each member of the group relives their first memories in theater through flashbacks. Marita cannot find Renato anywhere and calls Nora. Sandra sees Nora's pregnancy test and discovers that Emídio and Jorge had a fight. Artur and Mauricio's relationship causes trouble for Fernando, Marita, and Sissy. Leandro proposes to Alicia.

Mauricio and Antonia audition for a soap opera. When Artur finds out, he gets angry with Mauricio. Marita tells Renato to give her back an earring that Flor found in the car. Nora blackmails Renato and Fernando tells him that Sissy is his new assistant, which upsets Artur. When Jorge's mother is taken back to the hospital, Sandra goes with him and Emídio spies on them.

Cristina throws a party in her studio. While this is going on, Emídio kidnaps Jorge and, later, Sandra. Jorge's mother asks him to forget about Sandra. Marita decides to leave Renato and move in with Artur. Lastly, Mauricio gets angry because Antonia was the only one who got accepted for the soap opera. Sissy is left alone at the party.

The list of the people who were chosen is announced, and, for some, it means their dreams fall apart. Renato confesses his romance with Nora to Marita and the rest of the group.
