I've seen all kinds of movies dealing with racism, but this one takes the prize on the one that disturbed me and made me uncomfortable the most! I tuned in more for the possible "supernatural" nature of the show, but it was more like 80% racism, 20% horror. Well written, acted and directed, but tough to recommend unless you have a strong tolerance to see what a typical black family likely had to go through to "move on up" back in the 1950s!

Just starting into the series. It is definitely a rough watch but so good. The supernatural and psychological horror works well in this series. Adding that to the racism that haunts the family in every way possible, that makes each episode a ride.

Finished the series and it was brutal. Really enjoyed it and wasn't sure what was more frightening; the racism endured by all the black people or the supernatural element. The acting was excellent as well.
There's a film called Surburbicon and a similar thing happens to a black family there (which was based on a true story), I did wonder if the filmmakers got inspiration from that.

It was a damn nice ride. All these crazies seems so far but so close. The supernatural was a plus but just the everyday was crazy good.
