NGAI is the head of a drug syndicate who has a son KWONG SANG

and an adopted son CHUN. CHUN is a brilliant young man while

KWONG SANG is a crook who has always been jealous of GM',s

ability. In .a deal, NGAI and KWONG SANG get caught and CHUN

takes over all the business. SUNG is the crown prosecutor

against NGAI who has an adopted daughter - SHUN WAH. SHUN

WAH loves his sister SHE VUN very much who is adopted and

raised by a couple.

SHUN WAH's boyfriend HOW MAN works in HOK NIN's provisions

company. HOK NIN's daughter, HELEN wants to take him away

from SHUN WAH. She makes here father offer HOW MAN a bursary

to study abroad so that they can get together. Without

knowing the details, SHUN WAH is glad and encourages HOW MAN

by promising to look after his old mother. In jail, NGAI

regret for his deeds and instruct CHUN to wind up his drug

syndicate. After several years, CHUN establishes himself

in entertainment business. By then, SHUN WAH also graduates

with a law degree and works in her foster-mother's office.

Upon return from abroad, HOW MAN and SHUN WAH's relationship

is not as intimate as before. HELEN's brother WILSON gets

into trouble concerning the death of a show-girl. HOK NIN

and WILSON return to SUNG for help but in vain. HELEN urges

HOW MAN to marry her but HOW MAN feels that he still loves

SHUN WAH. Despite her father's disapproval, HELEN goes on

to reveal to SHUN WAH her relationship with HOW MAN and that

he has his child.

SUNG also had bitter experience with man thus suggests SHUN

WAH to devote her energy in work. CHUN does not allow his

men to get involved in drugs anymore but HUNG disobeys him.

Whilst chasing after HUNG, CHUN is caught red-handed and

charged for possession of drug. He knows that he has been

trapped. In fact the whole plot is designed by CHIC, an

inspector of the police who believes CHLN has been deeply

involved in the business thus is doing whatever possible to

get him in jail.

In the case against CHUN, SUNG is the prosecutor and SHUN WAH

is her assistant. Having learned that HOW MAN is to marry

HELEN on the same day as her sister SHE'YUN to marry WILSON,

SHUN WAH is emotionally unstable and commits a serious mistake

which leads to MN's discharge.

SHUN WAH is sorry for her carelessness but the Law Society would

need her explanation and challenge her professionalism. On the

other hand, CHUN is interested in meeting this prosecutor's

assistant who discharges him from the court. Accidentally,

they have their first encounter in a party and neither have any

good feeling on each other.

To make up what she has done wrong, SHUN WAH goes on to investigate

GIN and HUNG and manages to find out some background of

the NGAI family and CHUN's relationship with it. SHUN WAH

visits HUNG's wife but find that their little daughter is left

unattended. She takes up the responsibility and works as a

teacher to help the little child. HOW MAN holds a key position

in HOK NIN's company but his mother is displeased with HELEN

because of her indecent manner.

HOW MAN is very annoyed when he discovers the truth that HELEN.

has never had a baby-: He gets drunk and confesses everything

to SHUN WAH. SHUN WAH is so sensible and asks him to face

the reality. Somehow, SHUN WAH's attitude towards CHUN

changed as she observes how CHUN helps HUNG's family despite

of HUNG's conspiring to trap him.

On SUNG's recommendation, SHUN WAH gets her barrister's license.

She wishes to open an office but does not have enough money.

KWONG SANG is finally discharged from jail and resumes his

foolish living. He spoils the business CHUN established.

CHUN is unhappy but cannot say a word. One day, KWONG SANG

meets WILSON during a fight and they become good friends.

With the help of HOW MAN, SHUN WAH manages to open her office.

But business is so bad-that she has to lease half of the space

to a private agent - KWAN. CHUN learns of SHUN WAH's

situation and invites her to be his attorney. SHUN WAH

declines the offer. Though displeased with his husband's

unworthy character, SHE YUN finds that she is pregnant.

After reconsiderations, SHUN WAH changes her mind and accepts

Q-IUN's offer. She requests CHUN to disclose to her every

details of his business. CHUN does so which makes HONG,

CHUN's assistant, very unhappy. He then quits his job with

CHUN and works with KWONG SANG. KWAN accidentally discovered

that KWONG SANG is again involved in drug trafficking. KWONG

SANG wants him dead but stopped by CHUN.

SHUN WAH gradually becomes GM's consultant and they finally

fell for each other. CHUN brings her home on the occasion of

his foster-mother's birthday and discloses that he wants to

marry her. WILSON is still as unworthy as he was get caught

with VD. HOK NIN suggests that he should not let SHE YUN

knows.

SUNG knows that SHUN WAH has been with (HUN and is displeased,

so as CHUN's ex-girlfriend PING. PING intends to commit

suicide and SHUN WAH is very sorry about it. She feels that

she is taking away somebody's love as if HELEN takes HOW MAN

away from her. She is upset and decided not to see CHUN.

KWONG SANG loses all his money on his business and turns to

CHUN and NGAI for help. They refuse.

PING recovers and decides to leave CHUM. CHUN is sorry but

thinks that is inevitable. SHE YUN has a miscarriage after

which is suspicious as she hear the nurses' gossip about

WILSON having VD. She has it confirmed by testifying the

pills WILSON uses to take. In extreme anger, she wants to

divorce WILSON. When she returns to collect her personal

belongings, the couple has a fight and SHE YUN falls down

the stairs.

SHE YUN's physique is too weak to have her life spared. HOK

NIN afraid that the family reputation might be ruined and

covers up the truth of SHE YLJN's death but nevertheless revealed by SHUN WAH. SHUN WAH needs HOW MAN to testify against

WILSON which traps him in dilemma. HOW MAN chooses being true

to righteousness thus makes WILSON sent for two years'

imprisonment.

SUNG meets HOK NIN and recollects their memories of over twenty

years ago - SUNG was having HOK NIN's child whilst unhappy

about his unworthiness, she then gave birth to a boy and then

went abroad to study law. NGAI passed away and KWONG SANG

gets his share of fortune. GIUN's foster-mother reveals

CHUN's identity and urges him to find his parents. Finally,

GUN finds out that SUNG and HOK NIN are his parents.

Due to KWONG SANG's inability, his business flops. He insists

CHUN should surrender his share of fortune because he is not an

heir of the NGAI family. CHUN agrees. HOW MAN divorces HELEN

and gets very depressed. SHUN WAH supports him which makes

CHUN very unhappy.

Upon HOK NIN's request, CHUN works for him and business is good.

KWONG SANG resumes the drug business in a big scale. HONG

helps him out with the operations. Later, KWONG SANG is double-

crossed by other triad members and loses a big deal. He blames

CHUN and a fight breaks out. Other family members separate

the two and KWONG SANG subsequently gets killed by HONG in his

room.

CHUN is arrested and trial in court. All believe that the statement SHUN WAH is to make will be of vital importance and the prosecutor induces the jury to disbelieve what SHUN WAH says. Suddenly, SHUN WAH claims that KWONG SANG has been killed by CHUN and that he is forced to tell lies by CHUN.CHUN is mad to hear that.

Everybody in court is surprised by what SHUN WAH says. Later,

it is deliberately unveiled that SHUN WAH is conspiring with

HOW MAN to testify against CHUN which leads to his final

discharge. CHUN finally realizes that SHUN WAH is risking

herself to save him. He is so grateful but unable to locate

her. In despair, he boards a plane and heads her Europe to

relieve his tension. To his surprise, SHUN WAH appears to

accompany him for his trip.
