Christmas is certainly the number one holiday for movies made or set about it. Watching Christmas movies on and around Christmas is just part of the holiday itself. New Year's Day/Eve not so much. But there are many films set in those days in whole or in part. Auld Lang Syne is even sung in many films as well. Shirley Temple sings it in Wee Willie Winkie, the town of Bedford Falls sings it in Its a Wonderful Life.
Some films that feature New Year's Day/Eve include: The Gold Rush, An Affair to Remember, The Apartment, Oceans Eleven, The Poseidon Adventure, New Year's Evil, When Harry Met Sally, 200 Cigarettes, New Year's Eve. There are many more, of course. Does anyone here watch any of these films on the holiday? What do you think?

New Year's Eves when I happen to remember, and if I'm then able to get around to it, I like watching 1921's The Phantom Carriage, which is set on New Year's Eve. I'm hoping to watch that this week.
